Hi. Does anyone know a way to increase vividness of dreams without taking pills or needing to become lucid? People have been saying how dreams can be "realer than real" but all of my dreams lack certain things to make them anywhere near real. Some of these are:
Feeling the weather (example freezing or burning).
      Feeling the air.
      Seeing my arms and hands.
Feeling my feet touch the ground.
All of my dreams are blurry/foggy/misty (no, I don't need glasses).
Most people's voices sound just like my own voices.
      Lack of bright colours.

All of my dreams are like this. Can anyone help?

In various dreams, I have had these problems too. Although it seems with practicing recall, they have decreased.

No advice on how to increase vividness necessarily, but I was thinking that you could use this lack of vividness or clarity as a dream sign. LD's for me have been very vivid, so if you got lucid maybe that would solve the problem.

In my non lucid dreams, I don't realize this. In my lucids, I am aware of this and I'm dissapointed. Unfortuanetly rubbing my hands together 100% results in a false awakening/a real awakening. Well, based on the 8 times I've done it.

Have you tried yelling "Increase clarity!" or something similar? I just remembered I did that in the first LD I had since joining DV; I had read about it here and I thought it sounded stupid, but my subconscious remembered it and it really did work. I really yelled it loud in my dream. Also, once I yelled about the lights, and that worked too.

I'm sorry I keep forgetting you are talking about non-LD.

Lol. Well last night I had 2 lucid dreams. In the second one, I remembered this thread. So, I just focused on everything. I was able to feel pain, my feet touch the ground, see myself, and there was no mist. I could even feel the wind! Even the dream was bright, thanks to the direct sunlight.

The only thing that was unrealistic was that I didn't feel wet when a water balloon hit me.

That's cool. So you didn't have to do anything, just thinking about this conversation and focusing did it?

Two in one night...that is impressive.

Yup I guess I just wasn't paying attention to much in the dreams to keep them vivid. I was usually just annoyed with it in my other LD's.

Although... there still was something missing keeping it from feeling totally real. I'm not sure, but something.

I think even though sometimes my dreams seem hyper-real, a lot of the time there is something missing or different from real life. The quality of the light, the flatness of DC's personalities, just something off. I don't know. It still seems like this could be a good DS but I don't remember it helping me get lucid ever.

It seems like you notice a lot (like the sound of people's voices being like your own? I don't remember ever thinking about what people sound like in dreams). Maybe it is because you are very observant, and so you are aware of these things. It seems like I am usually focused on something in a dream and maybe don't notice the anomalies so much.

That works for me to gain clarity once I become lucid. Usually I say "clarity now". Rubbing your hands together can also help from what I have read. I am also considering calling my dreamguide to help increase my lucid experiences.

Last night I had a lucid dream, and when I rubbed my hands together it felt real, but nothing happened.

Well I guess it's better than the usual false awakening I get.
