Hi,
Self hypnosis is the best thing for me. I really can't keep a DJ untill I get my life "straight". Basically all I do is get to bed, run one of those auto-hypnosis things running or just repeat "I will wake up after every dream, bla bla..." untill I fall asleep. Then I usually wake up in the middle of the night so I can try some techinques and ofcourse recall the dream before. I guess having enough sleep is the first thing, a dream journal the second thing that's most important with recall.

Hope I helped .

repeating to yourself that you'd wake up after the dream didn't occur to me... already read about dream journals... was going to find a notebook to put it in.

anyway, cookie for you! (other tips appreciated, ones i didn't know before... or explaining the details of one i already knew warrants cookie-handouts.)

I have the same exact problem, but I just started school again, so that might be part of the problem.

I also listen to metal when I go to sleep usually, that might be another problem ^^

metal? what kind? (i must slap myself for going off-topic)

school isn't stressful for me... i always seem to get my work done. I listen to metal or rock occasionally, but there are also nights where i listen to nothing and i remember no dream. (heck, my last remembered dream was on a night where i listened to music)

Use a dream journal each night, it will help your recall after time and will also help you recognize dream signs helping you go lucid. Try to wake up in the middle of the night after each dream period and write down anything you can remember from your dreams. It doesn't have to be really long paragraphs, just ke details or even how you feel, then in the morning read what you wrote and try to write down what you remember.

Hope this helps

Well, mostly stuff like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, and Evergrey, but now I'm getting into a little bit of death metal. Opeth... Beautiful acoustic parts, great vocals. But I listen to everything from classic rock to death metal, so I'm pretty open-minded to all rock.

But yeah, pretty off topic.

The last remembered dream I had I think I was listening to Pink Floyd. So I think soft music helps me.

I love that song... And Echoes.

But my family has been going through quite a bit of stress right now, so I'm not too worried about dreaming. I wish I could remember/do LDs now, but I have plenty of time to do it later on in life. *shrug*

I think I'm gonna try B6 if I can't remember any dreams, though.

When I first learned of Lucid Dreaming, I RARELY ever remembered my dreams. IMO, one of the most important things to do is to keep a dream journal. When I first started I said, "How am I going to keep a dream journal when I don't even remember my dreams?" The trick is to write SOMETHING down every morning no matter what. Just start with emotions or feelings that you get when you wake up. Eventually, you will be able to remember more bits and pieces of your dreams, until you remember entire dreams.

It may take some time, because everyone is different. For me it only took a few weeks to be able to recall several dreams per night. Now I am finding that my dream recall is going down very much because I have stopped dream journaling. I am confident that if I pick it up again then I will improve.

As you are falling asleep, tell yourself with confidence that you will remember your dreams upon waking up. Tell yourself it is the only natural thing that could happen. And make sure to write something down every day.

Good luck and keep practicing.

EDIT: Oh, and when you are trying to recall in the morning, don't move at all. As soon as you wake up and turn off your alarm or whatever, just lay there and think for 3-5 minutes. Often times, I cannot remember them right away but will remember more if I wait for a while. Give it a try and be patient.
