I have a problem. I manage to remember (on average) two dreams a night without writing them down at night. However, recently I have been setting my alarm twice during the night to remember more dreams, but I have a tough time getting back to sleep. Should I continue setting the alarm and risk not getting back to sleep, or is two dreams enough?

hmmm... yesterday i tried waking up at 5:30 and i had school and i couldn't fall back to sleep till a couple minutes before i was supposed to get up. i think i'm just going to let myself wake up whenever i do in the middle of the night.falling asleep is too hard for me to do twice.

I would screw the midnight alarm and record dreams in the morning, as your sleep is the most important thing. Anyways, your recall will probably improve, so don't worry about the current "only two dreams" status. When I was at my height of recall, I was remembering 3-6 a night, generally with one or two detailed ones, and that was with the absolute worst DJ habits you could have while still maintaining one. I would just try to "imbue" them in my mind when I woke up, and type them in the afternoon when I had time. The problem was even then it was taking me 30-40 mins to write my dreams, and I eventually gave up and now recall a few dreams a week (which i don't even write down). Losing too much sleep over recall will just make you sick of it, so just write in the morning, and like I said the recall willl improve with time.
