Anybody Like to Mind Map Dreams?

      I myself do this.

You can look up mind mapping on the internet. Really just get a general sense of how to do it, and tweak it to your comfort if you want.

I think it's a nice way to recall. It may not be absolutely AS effective as fully continuous writing, but it saves a lot of time and spares you from hand pain. You may be surprised at how effective it is.

Basically, I would just put down a main subject, and other main words that trigger stuff. At the end, I may end up with 20-30 words or phrases. I can basically re-experience the dream, but not lucidly, though!

Interesting! I just finished looking at a few sites.

Which method do you use to organize your dreams? I found two or three different methods in just two websites. I think the tree structure has possibilities.

I don't have a preference yet for what my mind maps would look like. Nevertheless, though, the more distracting or interesting it looks, the better memory retention you get.

There's many ways, and I encourage experimenting. The way I posted at first was the basic way. You can even write trigger words as they come to mind, and link them later. This exercises spontaneous recall.

Anyway, mind mapping should integrate into you a more holistic view of the dream experience. Kind of like having an easy access to a bird's eye kind of perspective.

Oh, there's a book on it, by Tony Buzan. The Mind Map Book

      Hey, you will never guess.

We are now beginning to use mind maps here at work. I should have the software sometime today.

      Cool!!

have you ever done auto-writing? now that is a TRIP!

basically, you close your eyes and your friend describes a scene and has you wake up in that scene. he/she has to make it VIVID like none other. then, they have to lead you going around and you have to describe certain details while others are told to you. things like lables or text in a book, etc..

in the example my teacher did to me, i woke up in my physics room and no one was there. so he convinced me to look in one of the cabinates (after he described the room very well to make it more real to me). in the cabinate he asked me what i found, and i told him, then i looked in another one and he told me there was a notebook which i actually also saw! then he told me to open it to a random page and start reading off letters i see. without thinking about it beforehand, i just said the letters i saw on the page one by one (then alittle later i got to word by word, but trust me it's better to stay with letter by letter) and i read "My hands are crying" in french. in the end i was so happy i did it, i felt like i learned something about myself. kinda like waking life lucid dream, heh. it's also fun to do with friend (and a REAL trip on shrooms/weed).

      well, have fun! ^_^
