crazy coincidence

I've started a dream journal pretty recently and one entry said "[place where I work] uniform is missing." while I can't remember what that dream was like (I need to write them down more detailed), about two days later I got laid off! very strange...

I had a dream my physics teacher was trying to hack me to chunks with an axe. Good thing I only have a week left of school.... :O

Things like that happen. You could have gotten a sublte hint that things were going downhill at work. Another thing that happens is that of all the things we hear - our brain has been trained to filter out things that are deemed unimportant. such as people in the next room, or the sound of the air conditioner. while your brain might not have decided to bring it to your attention at the time you could have actually heard or seen bits of evidence leading up to being laid off that your subconsious was trying to hint to you while dreaming.

Maybe the thoughts can have a bad effect and lead to further actions in day to day life, or maybe your subconsciouss was warning you.
