Recognising dreamsigns!!!

There are 2 dreamsigns that i keep dreaming of nearly every night, my old school and my old house. I become lucid sometimes in my old school but never in my old house, and it's so frustrating because i keep telling myself that they are my dreamsigns so why don't i realise i am dreaming?

I understand your angst. I have a huge dream sign that is in probably over 85 or 90% of my non lucid dreams and I still do not realize I am dreaming. It is quite frustrating.

Here's something you can try. Hang around some photographs that were taken in the old house, and do a reality check whenever you happen to notice one. Also do an RC if something else that is related to the house happens: for example if you walk in the neighborhood of the old house. or if the city where it is located is mentioned in conversation. Or even when you happen to think about it, remembering something that happened in it, do an RC.

When you're going to sleep repeat to yourself "When I'm in my old house, I will recognize that I'm dreaming"

My problem is always remembering to RC How do I solve that? Throughout the day I never even remember.

Well since i last posted i have dreamt of my old house the last two nights without becoming lucid, and my old school one of the nights.

Hang around some photographs that were taken in the old house, and do a reality check whenever you happen to notice one. Yea, this is a really good idea. I too tend to dream a lot about my home, but not an old home...it's always about the home I currently live in. So I'm going to write a "H" on my hand that stands for home and RC whenever I notice it. And RC whenever I come back home from somewhere.

Dreamt of them both last night and many nights before that and still not becoming lucid. The school one annoys me the most because it should be so easy to recognise i am dreaming because i have finished school! Stupid ds.

Hey there, I think I can relate. I have several dreamsigns. Some of them will make me lucid any time they happen. Others, I never ever recognise. When I grew up my father lived with his girlfriend at the time, who had a son about my age. So he was sort of like an unofficial half-brother. They eventually split up though, and as time progressed we lost contact. I never saw him again since. But he shows up in my dreams all the time... probably the most frequent dreamsign I have. Yet for some reason, I never ever manage to recognise it as a dreamsign. I still don't know why, or what this dreamsign means, all I can guess is that this particular dreamsymbol is so deeply ingrained in my subconscious, with so many conscious blocks to prevent me from understanding it, that it can't make me lucid. And believe me I've tried. So... you work with the ones you can work with, and accept that you don't recognise them all -Redrivertears-

Yeh but the thing is i strarted to recognise the school ds becoming lucid about 3 times in a row but i haven't become lucid since with it which is deeply frustrating because i thought i had finally learnt the ds and as far as the old house ds thats where i become lucid most but not because i realise it's my ds, but because of a rc, spontaneously or like the other day i realised that there was a carpet in the living room (the one from years ago when i lived there) and now there is a wooden floor. Do u dream of things the way they used to be because thats what i do in my old house and my old school cause i'm pretty sure i dream of them because i miss them and perhaps thats the reason u dream of it too.
