      Stress

My recall has suffered a big down turn of late I think this may be due to stress; would meditation before going to bed be any help and if so can anyone give me a few tips?

Meditation should help, though not guaranteed. On the other hand, it helps you cope with the stress itself!

My best tip along with the meditation is to use an hour before bedtime as a "cooling down" time from the day. Relax, watch some TV, read a book or magazine, or whatever gets you relaxed. Meditation applies to this.

If you don't already, write down your dreams or at least keywords from them as soon as you wake up. Good luck, and I'm sure others have more tips.

I get off my computer an hour or less before bed and do my bedtime ritual (make bed, brush teeth, put on pajamas, etc). Then I turn off all the lights, sit up in my bed and meditate for 15 minutes or as long as I can without falling over from sleepiness (I've been waking up at 4 and now 2 am and can't go back to sleep so I am super tired by bedtime ). It has seemed to help so far (been doing it a few days). I seem to be getting better at my dream recall.

Like Luminous said, cooling down might help. Your body temperature naturally goes down as the day goes on, so stopping any activity that keeps you using your brain/body towards bedtime might help. This is only my two cents worth, but it's worth a try, right?
