How to best recognize dream signs? Veterans needed...

      Hey all,

I'm remembering at least 3 dreams a night now, usually at least 2 fairly long, epic dreams that take over a page in my dream journal. I've got a list of 10 or 12 fairly common dream signs, a few that happen almost every single night, and I'm having trouble just logically recognizing them in my dreams. I've had 2 somewhat semi-lucids where I had a measure of control, but everything was really foggy...

I actually constantly have dreams talking about lucid dreaming, telling my girlfriend in my dream what she can do when she's lucid, telling her to shout 'Clarity now!' when she becomes lucid, etc. Even last night, I remember having sex in my dream and thinking 'Hm maybe I should stop, I don't want a mess in real life' - so it's like I'm somewhat conscious that I'm dreaming, but I only realize this when I wake up!

      My main dream signs are:

My iPhone breaking - happens almost every single dream
My boss from work - always some type of DC
      My girlfriend
      My job (a pharmacy)
      Moving extremely fast
      Being within a video game
      Talking about lucid dreaming

Several more but those are very constant themes. I've been RCing 15-20 times a day, every time I talk or see my boss/girlfriend, walk in or leave my job, anytime I think about lucid dreaming, every time I check my phone, and randomly throughout the day. Anytime anything out of the ordinary happens also. I do 4 reality checks in a row each time - time check, nose plug, finger through palm and tongue through teeth.

Any suggestions on how I can get past this seemingly last barrier? Thanks in advance for any help.

theres plenty of stuff all over the net to do with what things in dreams mean, alot of it seems almost like astrology though and didnt really help i found. Generally though from what ive read things that you often dream of are things that are important in your life or that you might worry about, perhaps on a subconscious level without even realising. while sometimes i find it hard to tell if im actually in a dream, having the reverse happen never seems to happen, reality has a certain solidity about it. youll have to wait for someone who knows abit more about that, sorry.

about dream signs and meanings though, ive often wondered what things mean because i have some pretty crazy dreams. though alot of the time all the info ive found does not help me much at all. Alot of what we dream is also just your subconscious going through all the things youve had on your mind, things that happened that day, things your thinking about doing in the future and things that you worry about too. Though your brain doesnt really do this in any sort of order just chucks them all together. which is why i can be doing something normal when something random happens like theres suddenly giant aliens of doom ruining the place and killing and stuff or someting. See i dont even bother with those dream dictionary things cause interpreting my dreams into usefull meanings just doesnt work. my sub conscious whips out all the random stuff it can find in my brain and blends it all together then throws it at me and tells me to go play with that!
hmm dream dictionary. ok.... hmm i see nothing about my school suddenly being based floating on a lake.. or those random english exchance students, wait why do people have broomsticks now?? i havent even watched harry potter in over a year!

so atleast you have things that make some sort of sense they all have something to do with things that are important in your life. Do you worry about your iphone, theyre pretty pricey afterall and seem abit fragile. If you dropped your Iphone do you think it would break? it probably wouldnt, they are pretty tough. though if you do worry about that sort of thing, maybe not even consciously, then that could be why.

Im no expert on this, as you can see i just seem to babble alot though from what ive read, and what seems to make sense to me, that would be the basics of it. Hopefully someone with abit more knowledge in this will drop in and help you out

well i think its about time i did some dreaming myself, seeing as its about 12:30. uh i need to start getting to bed earlier, consistantly after midnight cant be good.

      goodluck!

I'm at the same point (well, mostly). I can recall 1-2 dreams per night, and generally RC around 20 times a day when I feel things "aren't quite right" or I think about or see my dream signs in real life, of which I only have a few. I've had several close calls where I was dreaming I was lucid but was not, but have yet to attain full lucidity. I have plenty of opportunities since my dream signs turn up at least once a night, but I never make the jump to performing RCs while I'm dreaming.

This is all so very frustrating...
