      A sign that works!

      Hey every one i have a dream sign / lucid technique that may help! So here it goes I call it the POKE technique its when you uncontrollably poke your own mirror or wall at your house or anywhere . Do this whenever you see a wall or mirror Which is allthe time i beleive and you will end up doing this in your dreams . (NOTE)when you stick your hand in a dream wall it would go through this will not happen in real life (Duh) unless you smoke too much weed and hallucinate . Then you will be like wow i must be dreaming cuz my hand went through then you are on the road to easy lucidity. I tried my technique once and that same night i almost had a lucid dream except i got too excited and woke up! Well i hope this works out it worked for me

      P.S. Im sorta new here i would love some replies!

      I would think that such a dream sign wouldn't always work because in real life you wouldn't expect your hand to go through the wall. IMO, I think it would be better to close your eyes and then extend your hand forward, and also try not to think about the wall being there.

      whatever the technique it will all come with trial and error, practice and personal adeptation
      I know i would probally poke my hand through a wall in my dream and think nothing of it, as i still think the dream is real

      Hmm

      Well i have tried many other dream signs such as the text one and in one of my dreams iwas thinking " Hey i need to check if this is a dream" so i read the text once then twice and it did not change!!! I cant beleive my mind slipped the fact that i was almost dreaming But it is true your mind loses track of whats real and whats not when dreaming. Poking your finger through a wall may seem like every day life in a dream. Why is that

      Maybe its all a question of control and how much you have programmed your mind to question reality, which i dont do often thus no dream control

      Maybe if you do it and get results it wont be so annoying to do

      Like everyone drones on here, 'give it time' which is true, but don't think its the difference between sucess and failure because its not

      OMG MY MONITOR MAKES THESE LITTLE BLODGES WHEN I HIT IT IM DREAMING!!

      oh wait its an LCD monitor

      Oh and weed doesn't make you hallucinate

      Edit:don't want to sound like a total jackass but thats a good idea I am going to start doing that with the lightswitch technique 8)

      For me the best RC is to look at my hands. They will always show somekind of distortion. Move them closer and further away, you will be amazed

      yay! it helps! i thought of doing reality checks whenever i see something particular because then its more of a habit, and im more likely to do it in my dream, and that thing is computer screens, or glass. (including mirrors) because these things are around alot, and they draw my attention to them, and seeing my reflection is something that would give me a clue im dreaming because i would probably look different! (But im not going to do RCs like every five mnutes! can u imagine!)

      One night, I smoked a bowl with my friends and were playing videogames (yeah..it was a blast ). My friend Alex turns around and starts drinking liquid-blue mushrooms out of a balloon with a straw. He passes the balloon to my buddy Gregg and he takes a sip. When its my turn, I pop the balloon.

      "fuck!"

      Alex goes downstairs to get something to clean it up and Gregg continues to play whatever the hell he's playing. After I realize that Gregg is sitting where the shrooms where, I ask him "aren't you sitting on them".. then realize that none of this makes sense..

      So, in summary... you can hallucinate with weed, but once in a blue moon (unless it's laced).

      hmmmmmm.

      I'd like an RC that you can do anywhere. A lot of times I'm in weird environments, (i.e. Dwarven mines, tunnels, elvish lodges etc. ) and I don't look at my reflection a whole lot, so it's not a habit. Maybe clapping my hands? normally things are distorted in dream (that's the logic behind the paragraph-reading) and something (sound/sight/feeling) should be wrong with it.

      I'm going to get in the habit. Right now I'm trying to get to the point where I can remember all my dreams.

      Ive tried that RC in some dreams. Espescially when becoming lucid its fun to drive my hand trough a wall, or my whole body.
      But ive found out that to have more than one RC is safer.
      My reality checks that I do them whenever i see a dream sign... when i remember my dream sign.

      Check my hands and how they look.
      Look at text to see if theyr stable.
      Look around me, is everything normal and logical. Can i manipulate my surroundings?
      Can i breath trough my nose even when i clamp it?
      And can i remember what happend some minutes ago, trail my memory backwards.

      But the most important and the most difficult is to set my mind in the frame of really being inside a dream while being awake. Cause without this the RC would be meaningless. And after this i try to do things consciouss as long as i can without falling into daydreaming and other passiv mental activeties. Difficult? mHm!
