Trying to Stay Awake - Dream Sign?

I dream often about falling asleep & trying real hard to wake up or stay awake & I can’t. The scenarios are always different, but I am always trying to prevent myself from falling asleep. I always physically wake up while I’m trying real hard to stay awake in my dreams & I never find out what happens. Some of my dreams are of me driving & trying to stay awake before I crash – I always wake up before finding out what happens. My husband tells me that it’s usually a sign for me to wake up. I notice that this always happens w/in an hour or so of my regular wake up time so I wonder if he’s right or is there something else going on? Anyone have a clue about sleeping dreams? Does it mean something? Thanks.
