I think my dream recall got worse

For a while I was remembering at least 1 dream per night. During the last couple of months I noticed on a lot of mornings I wake up without remembering anything. It's like 1 full dream in 3 or 4 days.

If this is a month(s) kind of thing, then perhaps it has something to do with an unnoticed lifestyle change of any kind (diet, significant other, job etc.). If, however, this has only been a couple of weeks then perhaps the culprit is something simple and temporary like stress due to multiple possible factors. Although I'm not an expert (It very well could be something completely different).

A dreamer should almost never just "fall out of practice", it's a rut, you SHALL overcome...

Yeah. I don't know what it is, but stress might be the cause. Anyways, it's nothing that you can't overcome, you have to belive that. Don't let it stress you more.

This has been happening to me too.

I'm going to try to tell myself to remember my dreams instead of telling myself to try to become lucid. Once I can remember at least 1 dream per night, I'll go back to trying to become lucid.

I'll still do reality checks during the day so I can really make it a habit, but for now I'm going to shift my focus from lucid dreaming to remembering my dreams.

Also, make sure you don't sit up quickly when your alarm goes off or when you wake up. I've been doing this and it's probably contributing to the problem. Turn your alarm off, or get one that only beeps for 15 seconds so you don't have to get up to turn it off, and then stay in your bed for a few minutes and really try to remember your dreams.

I hope this helps and I hope some other people will be able to contribute some advice because I'm facing the same problem.

I'm getting better now. I realized that my problem was that I was putting too much effort into having a lucid dream, before I really let myself learn to recall. I'm now putting mild/wild aside so I can use mantras and learn to recall more. Within a week I'm sure I'll be good enough to lucid dream again.
