      Recall memory techniques

      I'd like to hear people's opinions on what technique works better for recalling more than 1 dream/longer dreams upon waking up.

      Usually when I wake up I go to the first dream memory I can recall, and I try to recall every detail about that dream and write it down before I forget it. I can recall my most recent dream pretty easily this way, but after that, my recall goes blank or at best I can only vaguely recall an element or 2 of an earlier dream. I think by the time I've analyzed all the details of the most recent dream, the earlier ones have already gone out of my mind.

      If I want to recall more than one dream per night, is it better to try and dig down until I can recall the earliest part of my dreams, and then start writing from there? Maybe my memories will flow better that way. Even if I forget my more recent dreams, they'll come back to me as I'm writing down the dreams prior to them.

      I'll try it this way for a while and see what happens. The worst case is I'll spend too much time and forget the one dream I did recall.

      You could try;
      -Staying still on awakening
      -B6, Melatonin
      -Autosuggestion
      -An alarm to wake you after REM periods
