Ah, there you go, my first DJ entry. I hope you like it: clickyclicky.
I'll have to get to work right now, but I'll probably elaborate on the MILDing this afternoon :)
Right when you said crowbar people, I thought of Gordan Freeman. Then I read you called them that later on. :P
And you were able to TASTE the bean candy things?! Woot!!
Nice dream. Keep up the good work and you will turn lucid soon. Even you did not turn lucid last night, all your RCs and focus on the topic is inside your Mind and subconscious, so it's not wasted. Keep positive and assuring you will lucid dream and you will be rewarded very soon.
Remember to post also feelings and thoughts during waking and specially before going to bed and when you awake in the middle of the night.
Thanks for the comments, guys!
@bored2tears
Yes, I was actually able to taste them beans. I was thinking about the discussion you had about taste last night. Funny coincidence...or not? :shadewink:
And yes, crowbars and Gordon are an unseparatable team.
@PercyLucid
I will try to post about my feelings during waking life, it's just that my holidayjob is taking up a lot of time. I haven't got that much time to spend behind a computer, but I'll try to keep up. For starters:
MILD Waking Life ~ 5th of August 2010
Today I had to to work, but that didn't stop me from working on my LD-skills. In the busride I had a genuine feeling of expecting lucidity tonight and I've decided to NLP Anchor (link) this state. Today I made a start at that, as soon as I've got some sparetime I'll try and train on it a bit more. Enfin, at work I've tried to RC as much as possible (and then I don't mean half-assed nose-pinching, but actually questioning reality). Around 8, 9 pm I lost a bit of my positive attitude (possibly due to the bus not arriving and me being tired in general), but I mantrad "I will Lucid Dream" and "I wil do a reality check" all the way walking home (10mins) out loud, engaging my body.
I'm going to bed now, and I'll try to remember myself that I already KNOW how a lucid dream feels (was a natural when I was a kid) until I fall asleep. Which should be pretty fast, because I'm exhausted.
Nightynight!

Engaging your body is one major clue. I will explain that in the next class... but its something important. Well done.

MILD Waking Life ~ 6th of August 2010
As you guys can read in my DJ, this morning's recall didn't go too well. I'm sure it has a direct relationship to how I fell asleep yesterday: fatigued and not fully focussed on LDing. I had a hard time not thinking about the stuff that happened that day (if you've got any tips on that Percy (or anyone else), they're more than welcome). I think my mind kept drifting away, but then again, I probably fell asleep within 5 minutes.
Now, I think the solution is twofold (and you're welcome to discuss this with me). Firstly, I think I should learn from this instead of whine and stop trying. In the past I followed that tactic and it obviously didn't work that well. So, what is to be learned from this? Fatigue doesn't help. It mainly just puts me in a "fuck it all, I wanna sleep"-mode, so I'll need to find a way to nullify that.
Secondly, I think the fatigue is basically a story. An excuse. Admittedly I was more than just tired, but everyone has these sorts of nights. In fact, you're suppósed to be at least a bit tired when you go to bed. I should find a way to get into the correct mindstate (LD, LD, LD :panic:) even though I am tired, my dog just died, or a giant meteor is about to slam into the earth. Ultimately I'd want to EXPECT to become lucid every night (not just hope), a reality in which there is actually no alternative (i.e. not LD).
As for how I feel now, Percy: posting this stuff has put me in a more positive mindstate again (which I really wasn't this morning). I always turn around like that. Moreover, I just set an alarm on my phone for tonight bed-time to go off and basically go "DON'T YOU DARE TO FALL ASLEEP YET, MISTER! CLEAR YOUR MIND NOW OR GIVE ME TWENTY!" on me. I'll see where that lands me :D.
To wrap it up: we all of course know the above is bull and I will get lucid tonight. I just posted this for your entertainment, because I already know how to get lucid and have been doing this my entire life. :shadewink:
[EDIT]
Thanks for agreeing on the body-engagement thing, Percy. I recommend it to all (except of course, when you're trying to fall sleep).
Yep. Body engaging is one clue. It worked for me a few times to celebrate a successful MILD before actually having it :P I will explain!
I hope you felt better posting everything, sometimes, you just need to share with somebody to get rid of that bad feeling. Nice work! You are definitely on your way!
I'm definitely on my way, I think I had my first Lucid last night! Here's the DJ entry.
As to how I'm feeling I haven't got much to say. You can read what I did last night before I went to sleep in my DJ (because I think it's not bad sharing that with the rest of the community anyway). Obviously I'm feeling pumped about the LD, positive, and I'm just going to keep this up. Tonight will be a good practice to get into the mindset even though I'm tired, because I'll have to work til 1-2am.
I'm going to nail that lucid, it's mine now! :D
- Frishert
Congrats on your first lucid! You should've chose to turn into a wolf! Argh! :P
Since you had one, now you opened doors to many more!
Hi Frishert,
Well done and lucky you on the lucid.
I am dying to know what body engaging is.
Congrats
Thanks for the comments, guys!
Today, however, I couldn't recall anything at all. People started showering and chatting next to my door so I couldn't focus at all. No worries though, it hasn't put me down, and tonight I will have another Lucid Dream! :D Going to work on my anchoring on my free day, now.
I meditated yesterday night before I went to sleep and repeated my mantras, feeling quite positive. Perhaps I even had a lucid dream - it's just that I can't remember it xP
I also had zero recall last night :(
Nice job!!!!!!!! Congrats on your lucid!!!!
Now, as you chant the mantra, "I lucid dream" focus on how your felt while in your lucid. That does a lot!!!
Remember to post your focus and how you felt during they day and your behavior towards dreaming.
MILD Waking Life ~ 9th of August
Had a LOT of recall this morning (and night)! No lucid, but I'm still very content. I've got to go now - hurry - so I'll elaborate when I get back.
Here's the link to my DJ Entry: Guitars, Ghosts and a Zip-archive
Nice dreams Frishert - my recall sucks right now!
Nice one!!!
Remember to post focus/meditations, etc :)
Hey there!
I promised I'd elaborate, so here I am. The day before I had so much recall, I meditated thrice and had been busy with LDing the entire day. I felt extremely positive about dreaming and having lucids that night. The latter didn't happen, but my recall increased hugely. I had been watching videos of dreaming on the DreamTube, hanging around in the chatroom and, like I said, meditated.
Today I hadn't any recall at all. I'm ill and not feeling well, perhaps that influences it. I did meditate and mantra yesterday, so that couldn't have been it (my intentions were strong). Hopefully my illness won't have an influence on my dreams tonight.
Focus: I feel I'm sometimes more focused at recalling that LDing. That's not necessarily a bad thing (I do need to have good recall), but I think it does say something. I feel more powerful when I say: "I will remember my dreams tomorrow morning" than "I will lucid dream tonight". The first I can adequately check, the second only if I dó have good recall.
Feeling:I haven't been feeling that great all day, but it's slowly getting better. I'm going to meditate as soon as I finish this post and then spend the rest of the evening (6pm now) in the chat and forums. Perhaps I'll try a WBTB tonight if I'm feeling well enough.
DJ Entry for today: Always write down SOMETHING
MILD Waking Life ~ 11th of August
Yesterday evening I had a good meditationsession (really relaxed) and that obviously had a good influence. Woke up a couple of times in the night to write down my dreams (as you can see in my DJ Entry). I've also begun implementing a "new" technique I thought of: actually practicing writing down my dreams. Real simple, you lay down in your bed (anytime a day) in your pyjamas. Turn of the lights, basically copy the environment you'd be in when you awake. Now, set your alarm two to five minutes for now, lay perfectly still and imagine that you're dreaming. Remember whatever enters your mind.
When the alarm goes off, relaxedly shut it off (keep your eyes closed) and ask yourself "what did I just dream?". Remember the stuff that just entered your mind and write it down on a sheet of paper. Basically it's just practicing your recall, as if it were a muscle (which it is).
My feelings? Excited for tonight's lesson! :D
Oh, and I'm feeling better today ^_^.
So, how is it going since last class?
Give some details, please, so I can give you some advice.
DJ Entry for yesterday: Roller-coaster
DJ Entry for today: Espionage
MILD Waking Life ~ 19th of August
Had a MILD class again last night! Woke up at 2:45am to write down my dream. Class finished at 4:20, which apparently is too long to WBTB for me. I tried falling asleep thinking about a forest but found I couldn't fall asleep anymore. After a lot of turning and tossing I did, but by then I completely lost my focus.
Oh, and I had a semi-lucid last night! It's a start after a week of not working at it at all ^_^.
When I woke up this morning I wrote down my dreams and did a meditation session. Not a long one, but to simply clear my mind. It's 3pm now and after I post this I will do another one. I'll try to focus on a forest and define the scene I will dream about this night. Tonight before I go to bed, I will repeat the meditation and incubation andhopefullyhave a lucid.
I find I do have difficulty with visualization, Percy. Not only visual, but aural and tactile too. Aural's easiest for me (I work with audio daily), but I feel it's nowhere near good enough to be useful for visualization. I guess just practicing and doing it a lot will improve that?
Practice will help you to master it. That is for sure..
How is your imagination and daydreaming? Please be honest so I can give the best advice. Provide as much detail as possible
