      RC-1 Shirani

First things first, a couple RCs: I do the nose pinch the most, and have started to couple it with the finger-through hand, and asking myself how I got to where I am.

      RC Triggers:
Whenever I use my crutches (I normally hop)
Whenever I am outside (I haven't gotten out much lately)
Whenever I play guitar hero (I feel I'm going to start playing a lot again)

      Dream signs:
I've been looking for some for a while. It seems like my brother is one, as well as seeing my old friend Jesse (he moved), walking, and doing something fun outside of my house (my house is the party house). I believe single buildings are a dream sign as well, I seem to be next to a walmart-sized building fairly often, but that might just be lately... we'll see...

      Thanks for completing this assignment.

Great work shiraniaori. Remember dream signs can come and go so if it happens twice or more even in the same night consider it a dream sign.

I look ast my brother and i am sure he was smiling at me so i count them again and i have more than 5 again but i don't become lucid!
It seems like he didn't become lucid because he doesn't think too critically about the "am I dreaming?" part of an RC and doesn't make the assertion that "If this works, then I am dreaming".

I think he didn't become lucid simply because he never trained himself to think of lucidity or of FA when he heard/saw something about them. I've always wanted a DC to come and tell me I was dreaming, so whenever I have a talk about it with someone I do an RC. Same with randomly seeing things about LDs somewhere like on a book or in the internet.

A general lack of familiarity with that RC is what caused this. It seems to happen fairly often. If you don't assert in waking life that a light switch not working, or a nose pinch RC, or counting extra fingers on your hands, or whatever it happens to be, means that you're in a dream, than this will transfer to your dreams, and you can pass it off mid-dream for some illogical reason, rather than you being in a dream being the first thing that you think of.

Nice assignment Zebrah, it was creative, thought it was going to be something more mundane/predictable. GJ, I had fun with it.

I was on vacation for 5 or so days, and I thought I would have free internet, but couldn't . Anyway, I'm back, and as for the homework: 2 senses, not really, have only focused a bit more on taste, and I already paid a lot of attention to it regardless. As for the three things I have noticed, my shorts actually smell... bad. Kind of surprised I didn't notice before. I also noticed that my clothes seem to smell worse when I come out of the shower, if they were in there. I'm assuming it's because of the moisture. I've noticed that every single railing is on the left side of the stairs, going down, to all the places i've been to last week, except my basement. It's on the right.

Also, now that I'm paying attention it's easier to tell when people are drunk. A lot easier.

      Question 1:
Using reality checks to become lucid is considered a,
      a. DILD
      b. WILD
      c. MILD
      d. RCILD
      [a]
      Question 2:
True or false: I put a major emphasis on awareness in this class?
      True
      False
      [True]
      Question 3:
Explain your personal reality check process.
[Nose RC, Finger through hand RC, ask myself how I got here, all while thinking I'm dreaming.]

      Question 4:*
(Points for any answer don't lie)
Have you done a reality check today before reading this question?*
      [Yes, 3.]

      Question 5:
Explain the difference between being aware and being lucid in a dream.
[Lucid means you understand that your in a dream, which you can do without being aware. Aware means you realize to the full extents what could be done, and you are consciously understanding the dream and whatnot]

      Question 6:
How can you be in full control of a dream without being lucid?
[While you wouldn't be consciously controlling it, you are still able to unconsciously alter the dream, based on your experiences with controlling dreams.]

      Question 7:
Is there a wrong way to do reality checks? Explain your answer.
Yes, if you do a RC with the idea that they won't work, or if you do them thoughtlessly/passively. The prior will end up with you doing it in a dream, and the RC acts as it normally would, and the latter would do the same, or get you to do the RC correctly, and still fail to become lucid.

      !EXTRA CREDIT!
Write your review for this class here.
[The topics and the syllabus weren't bad at all, but the organization and IRC use were hectic at best. Not a bad class, or teacher, and I think the assignments were great.]

Write any suggestions for next semester here.
[An IRC chat timetable IN the syllabus would be greatly appreciated, a short preview of everything that we'll learn and how it will benefit us, and perhaps longer IRC lessons?]

Would you recommend this class to a fellow DV member?
[I would recommend it to any beginner for sure, but experienced LDers might want to pass it up, only if they have a good understanding on the basis of awareness as well as RCs. A good majority would benefit from this class.]
