Well. I absolutely ADORED the first one. The second one I attended at midnight, opening night. It was good, but I thought they pulled too many horrible puns and cliche'd jokes to make it a really good film. In short, I was disappointed. The first one's soundtrack was AMAZING. Klaus Badelt did a great job, especially considering that he was relatively new to the scene. The second soundtrack...not so much. And Hans Zimmer did the score for it, but that didn't save it from being abysmally dull in comparison. Anyway, this trailer looks like the third movie has great potential, but I'm still a little afraid that they'll slip back into pointlessly childish jokes like they did last time. Still, I'll be there to watch it at midnight once again.

Everyone loves pirates. The problem with sequels of great movies is that the expectations were so high. I had a similar dissapointing experiance with the Matrix Reloaded. By the way, thanks for the link.

Yeah, I didn't watch the Matrix until a few years after it came out, so by then the sequels had already been released and I had heard they weren't as good, so I just watched the first and never saw the second and third, so as to not ruin the first one for me. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have done the same with the Pirates movies, but I'll at least give the third one a shot.

Hey, this looks pretty good. I liked one and two, just because I am a very forgiving kind of person. Plus, I used to be obsessed with pirates when I was younger, so maybe that's why I liked the second one just as well (my only gripe being the ending&#33.

I liked the first one, I thought it was great, at first I wasn't impressed with the second one, it was ok but after a second watch I enjoyed it alot more. The third one looks promising but it doesn't look as supernatural as the first 2.

What made me love the first one were jokes that weren't intellectually insulting. Jack's intro was hilarious, the "Clearly you haven't been to Singapore" joke was great, etc. It had a few annoying moments..."Say goodbye!" "Goodbye." and "Try wearing a corset". I seriously flinch when I hear those. They're just so...stupid. The second one, they seemed to be far more content to just recycle old jokes (which killed them), or just make more cheesy one-liners instead of producing quality stuff. It still had moments that were great, like the jar of dirt, and the two pirates with the Bible ("You get points for trying!"), but they weren't the majority like they were in the first one.

All I know is that when I go see it, I'm going to dress up like a ninja... maybe have a fight in the aisle during any potentially boring parts. Yah, good times. I'm not expecting huge things from it, so I'll probably enjoy it like I always do.

Jack Sparrow is awesome. He's seriously my favorite movie character of all time--mostly because he reminds me of my friend when he's drunk.

The second movie was horrible, if it didn't have all the hype of the first one it would have been just another box office failure. Nobody would even remember it any more. Needless to say, Johnny Depp does an amazing job with Jack Sparrow regardless of how many stupid jokes the Writers force him to make. (Though the first movie did attract a lot of young kids, so they have to appeal to them as well, I guess)

Okay I just saw the new trailer for this and I am so hyped. The second one was amazing but since the third is the resolution/conclusion, I'm sure there will be a lot more action. And the soundtrack for the third movie is going to be amazing, I believe Mr. Zimmer is still on that role.
