Hey guys, anybody heard of Jamendo?
It's a site dedicated to DRM-free, creative commons licensed music.
In other words, music that you can listen to and download for free.
It's got a massive community, and lots of music uploaded.
Any avid users out there?
And what are your favorite discoveries?

Personally, I'm becoming a big fan of The TenGooz, Shakalaka, Hype, and The Cool Cavemen.
You can listen for free, and if you like them, download them for free too. There's links to donate money directly to artists if you'd like, but it's not mandatory, and they won't pester you for donations. Personally, I'd recommend it, though--DRM free music is a future I'd like to see.

So, share your opinion of the site, and post links to your favorite artists or albums for us to give them a listen!

I'm streaming some of these songs, but I can't download any of them. My apartment's wireless router blocks all p2p software due to bandwidth usage. I wish they could have offered some sort of direct download.

I love that principle. Give money to the Artist, not the record companies.

I think you mean the record label. The recording 'companies' add just as much to the creative process as the artists themselves.
