Backgammon is fun. I always thought Risk was too long and boring but some people like it. (If you like Monopoly, you may like Risk--I hated Monopoly too.)
If you want things for kids, Stratego is fun and easy. (At least when I was a kid.) Sorry is good for kids. Battleship is OK too.
Somehow we never knew how to end a game of checkers, we just ended up as kings jumping all around the board, so if you could figure out how to play that it might be OK.
its not for kids.. its for me.. :) would be nice to found ( maybe i forgot ) any game with serious mind working like chess.. or something.. i dont know.. anything... :)
just suggest a serious - interesting game for 2 ( maybe more ) :)
How about Scrabble?
thanks for suggests but i dont think risk and scrabble would be interesting to play for me ( as i watched the reviews with photos.. ) anything else?
I'm running out of ideas here...did I mention Backgammon?
I like sequence for a good brain worker.
If you like fantasy.... last year I saw this interesting game called BattleLore (I think) which looked pretty cool... but I'm more of a computer gaming person :)
Try Blokus.
It's a great strategy game based on the four-color theorem, there is a lot more depth to it than one would imagine.
Pictionary is not really a board game, but it's fun.
If you like chess then why not try Go.
thanks for suggestions...
i think i will try to find BattleLore and ( but in our country this game is not aviable.. i think )
GO.. :)
Chess
Chinese Chess
Shogi
This is great if you want to play board games on your computer.
How about Twister?;)
My favorite board game is probably Puerto Rico, which has no dice, and therefore no luck factor. There is a lot of strategy involved, more in five player rounds. It's rated number one on boardgamegeek for a reason. Boardgamegeek is a good site altogether for tabletop games.
Axis and Allies!!! It's Risk on steroids!
Of course you're going to have to clear your schedule for the next 12 hours to play it out.
Although I do recall having fun playing a game called Stock Broker.
My favorite normal board games are Chess, Monopoly, and Risk.
My friend and I created what I call Risk Caliber. When your countries engage in battle, you don't role dice. instead, you play any Soul Caliber game to see who wins.
Now, the absolute best board game I've ever played would have to be Dungeons and Dragons, a RPG board game, and it's pretty complex. I'll probably be called a nerd, but I am a nerd. If you haven't played it, I'll tell you, it can be pretty pricey to buy. But, you can find the required rulebooks on the internet, along with the dice program. Some people have told me Dungeons and Dragons is witchcraft, but all you do is role some dice and say which monster you are killing, or which item you're buying.
I have a theory on that whole "evil" D&D thing. The dice contain all the platonic solids. I believe most people have had disturbing dreams about the platonic solids, and seeing those dice rattling around awoke some unsettling memories they couldn't explain.
I started a thread on those types of dreams here:

I think you got the wrong link Cusp.
I was going to finally check out what you were talking about cuz I haven't really known.
Doh, thanks for catching that Moonbeam. It's fixed now.
Risk! and chess! Risk is great with a bunch a friends and it takes alot of skill and stragetie to obtain world domination ! besides those i really used to like wake up daddy and hungy hungry hippos but those arent that great for thinking alot.. good luck on finding a good game!
