Lead singer of Quiet Riot found dead today.

Yep. I can't say I have been a fan for the past 23 years, but I was a pretty major fanatic for that band when I was in the sixth grade. Here is the story... http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/52112044

This is who I am talking about...

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

Did he die of old age?

I hated that band. And the whole genre of rock that followed them. That's when I quit being able to tell one band from another.

P.S. I've been using your RC lately. It's a good one.

Somehow I knew you would be the only person responding to my post today. I bet most of the people here had never even heard of Quiet Riot before now. I was in the sixth grade when Quiet Riot was huge, and that was the prime age group for their fans. I think you are a little older than I am, so you were probably at an age where you would think Quiet Riot sucked, which is what I thought by the time I got to high school. Still, they have an important place in my life history.

Quiet Riot was the band that made glam metal such a gigantic phenomenon of the 80's, and they were the first heavy metal band in history to have a #1 song. Within months of the #1 status of "Cum On Feel The Noize", Motley Crue got huge, and so did Def Leppard, Ratt, and White Snake. Van Halen sky rocketed to a much higher level of popularity in early 1984. Then the glam metal revolution got really enormous and even mainstream. We can thank Quiet Riot for breaking the ice for all of that.

I am not sure how Dubrow died. The last time I checked, the cause was still unknown. He was only 52. If I were to place a bet on it, I would say it was a cocaine or alcohol overdose.

That is excellent, excellent news. I always hoped somebody else would try it and get it to work. It is the best reality check I know of. I have no problem flying in dreams, but making watches and stuff appear is pretty difficult. Flying is easy, and it is a 100% guarantee that you are dreaming.
