Tell me about songs that get stuck in your head

Tell me if you have a song stuck in your head now, and then (optional) what kinds of songs get stuck in your head and when you finally get them out. As for me, Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas (love the song), and usually songs I don't own or (unfortunantley) songs I don't like.

I spend my entire life with one song or tune or another stuck in my head. Pretty much anything I'm working on learning, writing or collaborating with becomes the soundtrack for my waking and sleeping life for days. Right now it is a Waldon Reed Jr. song that I'm playing bass on - it has a challenging bass part and some wild harmony going on.

I'm like pj - unless I'm daydreaming or thinking really hard about something, I've almost certainly got some song stuck in my head. Though most of the time, I wouldn't call it "stuck" in a bad way... I focus on it a lot, and try to make it sound more lively inside my skull. Maybe that's why I'm so bad at paying attention. Once the lecture or whatever gets boring, I start focusing on the song in my head, and playing a game of "who in this room is really hot?" And you know, if I'm working on something, and really focusing in, I almost always need to be listening to music, or else it'll feel like there's a void of some sort. Kinds of music that get stuck in there? There are two categories: 1) Anything I'm actively listening to / am hooked on / am learning at the time 2) Old, obscure stuff from my childhood that I can't believe I remember. Usually, (2) ends up being some tune from an old Nintendo game. Like, I'll be sitting on the bus, playing this song in my head, and after a while, I'll realize... "Is this from a Marble Madness level or something????" Some music just stays with you till the grave.

Stream of Consciousness by Dream Theater and its kinda painful sometimes because there is a section where you think its gonna go for 1 more beat in the phrase like it has done before but instead it goes on to the next phrase where it does the same thing. It sounds good in the song but it really messes you up if you are tapping with it or trying to figure something out. Also the haunting bass solo phrase gets annoying because it keeps repeating over and over in my head without moving on to the next part. It's one of the most amazing songs ever but it gets frustrating stuck in my head.

Whichever one on the radio you hate, so you turn it off abruptly so it stays in your head all day long and it jsut STAYS but you HATE it so much you're tearing your hair out but you just CAN'T GET IT OUT! "Big girls... you are beutiful!" "Big girls... you are beutiful!" OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOREVER AND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's worse is that you haven't even heard the whole thing because it was so bad so it's the same but over and over again like a broken record.
