      Last book you read?

As there's already the movie thread I thought this would be a nice idea.

What's the last book you read and would you recommend it?

The last book I read was Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. I loved this book as all the other Discworld books. Pratchett's books are so hilarious

is that the one with the carnivorous suitcase? ;D

last book i read was blood meridian by cormac mccarthy. it takes place in 1850ish in the american southwest & mexico. it focuses on three people in a band of indian hunters. each person has their own draw.... very good.

and now i'm reading independent nation by john avlon. it's about america's partisan politics and how stupid they are. it's great. it's also a very old theory that people tend to disregard... "extremists are never right."

next on the block is the devil in the white city by erik larson. it's about 2 people in chicago during about 1890... one being the architect picked to design the world fair and the other being a murderer that lured people to the world fair to kill them. mwhaha, it's good stuff, i already read 2 chapters to see how it read.

Luggage? Nope, but I think all those stories with Rincewind and Luggage are the best ones of his work.

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child 'Still Life with Crows'
An excellent thriller, kept me guessing till the last chapter, when i figured it out!
It's about a serial killer, but not in the usual sense.
I borrowed it off someone while i was in florida, and had to bring it back with me, so i could finish it! I'm going to have to mail it back to them. did a search in my local library on them, and they have nothing under that name, will have to get my friend to mail me the rest of them!

I finally finished "Fool's Fate". Man, do I love Robin Hobb! But I'm sad to see the story end But alas, all things can not be forever.

Now, I've got so many to choose from, I don't know where to start!

Ooh, I really really like that book. Even though it's a story, it's a very deep one. Gives you a lot of thinking and has very much to say. It's just a great book, another book everyone should read whoever they are. The other one is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig
