Not necessarily--I think colorblind people have some sort of eyesight advantage. I was walking in the snowy woods with a colorblind guy at night once, and the moon started coming up, and he said "Look, moonshadows!" And I couldn't seem them for like 15 more minutes. So it's not necessarily a bad thing, except fashion-wise. And we won't be worried about that after this catastrophe.

I want to read the road, but I think I will have to wait until it comes out on paperback. Looks pretty cool to me. I am a big fan of distopian... well anything really.

I used to believe the second amendment was the right to protect yourself and have a well regulated militia. Keeping the government in check.
This is by no means the case in today&#39;s society.

The fewer people are picking up the hobby of firearms. The ones that do, generally target practice with their 22 caliber.
The few, have some high powered rifles to defend against a 250 billion dollar a year defense system. :?

Read the Federalist Papers... the Second was almost the first, and it hadn&#39;t a thing to do with any "hobby" or sportsmanship. It was a recognition of the deadly seriousness and deadly power of lawmaking - which could only be countered and held in check by the People&#39;s ability to overthrow their government (again) if necessary. Then re-read the Declaration of Independence. Get your bearings back, and get your belief straightened out.

The Second Amendment is the reset button of our republic.

Was, anyway. As you have stated quite well, it almost seems quaint when recognizing the firepower of the government. It was never supposed to be this way... but that&#39;s no reason to change your understanding of what our nation&#39;s founders intended.

Yes pj. I am aware of the details of the second amendment.
I am pointing out that our society is falling away from even owning gun. For practical or recreational purposes.
With that in mind it would be even less probable for any Gov. over throw.
New laws will eventually be more restrictive after ever columbine, even though the semi automatic weapon is not the most used tool for crimes.
So I know what they intended. But I don&#39;t see it going the way they intended it.

No apology necessary - &#39;twas an opportunity to point out one of the things "they" ain&#39;t teaching anymore. The idea may no longer be feasible, but those who inherit whatever is left of this republic should at least be clued in as to what a magnificent thing it was supposed to be.

I guess i could be the father of many many children and help humanity grow :-P

With these very small changes they inevitably make their way to what they really want. Changing the constitution. At least that is what I believe.
If they do it slow, nobody sees what is going on in front of their face. The public will let these changes happen in the face of the need for needed change, or so they are eluded to believe.

I realize our founding fathers could not have anticipated such things as nuclear proliferation, however there is a foundation of principles and rules that were brilliant.
