      Problem with my eyes?

OK I don't know if this is the right forum for this discussion; but it's a starting place.

When I read for a while on the Internet, and it is often forums like this one which don't let you change the colour scheme, my eyes get sore and the text starts to move from side to side and I find it hard to concentrate. I have had my eyes tested and wear glasses as I am longsighted. But this is worrying me. Does anyone know what it could be? Could it just be my eyes struggling to focus?

      Any help?

I would say you should probably just cut down your internet time.

Your probably straining your eyes from reading all the text. You should make sure your not sitting to close to the screen of your computer. Or have your face right in any paper work your doing. Also its probably a good to take a break every once in a while. Even if its just staring off at something else.

Are you reading off an LCD monitor or an old CRT (big honking old school screens)? If it's a CRT, have a look at the refresh rate. most people have it set to the default 60Hz, and for some inexplicable reason, they don't notice that. So I yell at them to change it, and when they do, they just say "wow, it feels like it's crisper or something." That might be part of the problem.

Another thing I do to help prevent strain on sites like these is to select the text I'm reading. It's nicer to read white on dark than dark on light.

In addition, don't sit too close to your screen. If you can't read it from like 1m away, get glasses.

Finally, make sure your screen isn't too high. The TOP of the screen should be horizontally aligned with your eyes (so you don't tire out your eyes by looking upwards while reading at anytime).

      Hope this helps a little.
