      That is the single good thing about the gas prices.
      Hopefully people will get off their asses and begin working for solutions, alternatives, etc.

      It hurts the individual, but it definitley got our attention (in the form of wallets).

      The oil companies are very clearly price gouging, which is flat out illegal, and the government is doing nothing about it. I really hope a new way of doing things suddenly hits the scene and blind-sides the oil companies straight out of business. I despise them.

      What gets me is that comparatively, we don't pay all that much for gas here in the U.S. The price is something like 5.60 USD in the UK and upwards of 4.00 USD in most of the rest of Europe.

      I'd say the biggest problem we have is not necessarily the oil companies, but the car companies who are squeezing higher performance out of their engines instead of a higher mileage.
