      The Walk of Shame

O started the confessions thread in the lounge for the purpose that I'm starting this thread for here. It seems to be appropriate here because sometimes, when in extended discussion, we are wrong. This shouldn't be SB or personal stuff. It's for when you get convinced that you are wrong and can find within yourself the strength to admit it. Contextualizing it is fine and desired. Let's do it in bold black. I'll go first.

Xaqaria just caught me arguing with a strawman

Context: I was conflating fundamentalism (by my definition, refuting the fact of evolution on religious grounds, hatred of people based on sexual preference and all that good stuff. satisfying one condition is all that is necessary.) with religion in general. I stand by everything I said about fundamentalism but I was arguing it out of context and hence, by definition, fighting with a strawman.

I think it was while watching one of the zeitgeist videos that I origionally heard the line:
being proven wrong should be celebrated, for it elevates a person to a new level of understanding.
I don't think there's anything shameful in admitting being wrong =P

I agree. The name was sort of a joke. Consider this a thread of celebration
