2012 prophecies

ok... I have NO IDEA! what's gonna happend but there are waaay too many cultures that seem to believe that SOMETHING IS going down on 2012... its not necessarily the end of the world, but it might be the end of life as we know it... I saw this documentary of nostradamus and 2012... it was a history channel documentary and they also talked about how the mayans also had "prophecies" and thought something is gonna happend in that same year... even the freemasons have some thoughts about it... The bible and many other cultures...

Now, I just think that if so many different cultures have that same idea of something happpening precisely on that year then it can't be coincidence... These cultures had NOTHING to do with each other... some even lived in different times so...

I just want to know people's thoughts about how they feel about this year to come... do you believe in all these "warnings"?? or do you just think its boloney!! and explain why...

I've done research on 2012 for a while now..I've read a lot of different theories. Some make sense, some sound like complete bullshit.

And all I have to say on the matter is focus on the here and now..there is no past or present. But the most important thing of all, is to not succumb to fear...just be aware of what's going on here and now and how you feel.

Fear is literally a prison for the mind, that's how people manipulate one another...actually it's the EASIEST most EFFICIENT way to manipulate someone.

Just relax...if this solar storm comes in 2012 it's going to boost the electromagnetic field in the earth. The pineal gland ( responsible for dreams, OBE's and NDE's ) is sensitive to electromagnetic fields. Can you imagine everyone in a state of peace and serenity, having and sharing lucid dreams every night? Light up some cheeba and relax, what's coming in 2012 is bliss. The world won't end unless you want it to or fear that happening.

But basically the formula is:

Fear = control
Love, or feeling happy = manifestation.

Refer to law of attraction.

Who do you think is doing the manifesting if the masses are in a state of fear?

It's understood that subconscious beliefs shape your reality and what you experience. I can't go into how this is even scientifically possible, because I can't explain it...I just can't. It's all subjective.

I've already stated this many times before: 26 000 is the number of years associated with the precession of the Earth. So yes, this 2012 prediction is also bunk. Why? Simple:

1. There's no strong side effects from the precession. Also, the starting point for counting cycles is completely arbitrary.

2. The cycle is just approximately 26 000 years, not exactly, and in fact the value has even decreased over time. So even if the Mayans were right and for whatever magical reason the precession had an effect on us at a certain point during the cycle, they'd still be wrong about the date it'd happen in. "2012" happened decades ago.

My brother showed me a video yesterday on "2012 Will Not be the end of time, NASA says."
In it, they brought up some good points. They said how the mayan calender has differnt numbers for each date. On December 21st, 2012 the number is 13 00 00. But that doesn't mean the end of the world. They said that a new calender starts up. (I can't remember the exact wording.) They also said how the last know, threat erasing disaster was 26million years ago, with the dinosaurs.

But I just don't quite understand why people are so defensive of this. Do they really want the world to end? What about the rest of their lives? I'm still young, I have a lot I want to do in my life.

2012 didn't happen decades ago. The precession isn't arbitrary. The Sun and the earth don't always align with the bulge of the milky way. This is something that only happens apx every 26,000 years. This is the cycle of the sun, as our sun revolves around the milky way. That is science, not myth or magic.

Don Alejandro is a great man, who only wants to spread the message of peace and love. Not doomsday and gloom.

The Mayans had the most accurate calender in ancient history. We already know their calender is not 100% precise. Does that make it any less remarkable? No. Considering the only technology they had was to look at the stars, they were greatest astronomers of their time.

The end of a cycle and the birth of the new cycle isn't something that happens instantly over night. Or on the December 21 2012. Did I say this? Did I say that Don Alejandro says this? the calendar the mayans used is way different than the calendar we use today. ours is way off compared to theirs cause of leap years and shit, so december 21, 2012 on our calender is not even the same date as the mayans december 21 2012. who really knows when the actual mayan 2012 will happen

Wrong, the revolving of the solar system around the galaxy takes millions of years. 26k years is the amount associated with the precession of the Earth's axis. Look it up.

Also, there's no objective beginning in the cycle of the precession, it's an arbitrary choice. Just like the Earth revolving around the sun: there's nothing special about the Earth's position on December 31st, the choice to count that as the starting point of a year is completely arbitrary.

I really like what you're saying.... I specially agree with how modern life isn't very fullfilling... If it was, there wouldn't be so much drug and alcohol addiction, suicides and young kids getting lost even before they start living...

I'm one of those people who look forward on something happening... It might make us open our eyes a bit...

Mayans seem to know a LOT, even things that are already written by them that scientifics of these days are barely finding out for themselves... And Mayans believe that everytime their calendar goes back to 0's something big comes with it... Life as we know changes.... How did Nostradamus get all this insight about the future... for hundreds of years they've said that his prophecies were believe to have come true..., Mayans and all the cultures mentioned were very spiritual people who were probably very much in contact with "higher beings" "spiritual guides" and what not... How would these people predict from so many years ago the 3 eclipses that are suppose to happend in 2012?? If they didn't have the tools that modern man has?? You see Delphinus that's why I posted here, These people were clearly connected to some really serious and powerfull spiritual stuff... or at least that's how I see it.... In all fairness Nina, - Y2K had little merit to it. It had to do with computer chips interpreting the year 2000 as '00 and therefore everything reseting. Some things DID go bonkers in 2000, but not on a massive global scale as we expected.

Computer technology is very young and is very much still in its infant stages. The Mayan civilization (2000 BC to 250 AD) was a thriving one in which the people were very well known for their art, architecture, and mathematical and (arguably better than our own) astronomical systems. They accurately predicted eclipses, they knew planets where spherical (not flat) amongst a myriad of other unexplainable things they knew thousands of years ago that our own sciences only confirmed maybe a hundred to a few hundred years ago.

Taking into account their advanced calendars, their systems of keeping time based on the movement of celestial bodies, and their track record of accuracy - I think it's pretty ignorant for people to say "Nothing will happen". On the flip side, I think it's also pretty ignorant for people to say "This and this will happen" when the ONLY thing the Mayans said regarding 2012 was that our current world (meaning age, not Earth) as we know it would end.

My thoughts on the whole thing? Don't be so gullible and jump to laughable conclusions that spur you into building an underground bunker. And don't think any "one" person has everything figured out. Remember that a lot of the Mayan writings were senselessly burned and destroyed by those fucktard Christians lead by Cortez. My attitude is wait and see.

I have no idea what's going to happen, but I would be not so smart to claim that I do know. :>

Eeh just prepare your self spiritualy for the jump , in my case I don't care if their is cataclisms I'll handle them if they happen ( I don't believe their will be anyways )

well, about the second part of your post, They say due to the planetary alignment with the milkyway on 2012 their might be some weird stuff happening, specially from the sun,,, (I can't think of the right term right now), If scientist already now about all this or anything else coming, SPECIALLY if its still a couple of years ahead!, they would refrain from telling the people.... can you imagine the caos that would bring??? If they actually told people their 'could' be a major catastrofe?? or if they had confirmed it?? I'm Not referring to any goverment conspiracy or any mulder and scully theories, NOR I'm saying some catastrofe IS indeed happening... all I'm saying is even if they knew about it, they wouldn't choose to tell us until the las moment I think...

Christianity really is the reason why we are behind in science and technology today, it was them who destroyed the science and burned everything from what we knew back then thousands of years ago (from what i have heard) . Religion is the result of the fractured human condition, not the other way around. If we cure our inherent need for patterns and security, religion will no longer need to exist. If we simply got rid of religion I'm sure we'd still find reasons and ways to hate each other and start wars.

I think the theories are true, but they'll cancel each other out. Planet X will be hit by the solar flare storm and be destroyed before it reaches Earth. :D

My two cents:

Nothing is going to happen. I don't buy it. Freaky coincidences or not, nothing will happen, unless mankind flips out and makes it happen, though this is as equally unlikely. So, bring it on. Even if the prophecies are true, I'm curious as to how I'm going to die.

To be fair, though, no one really knows. My opinion on the matter is that nothing will happen.

December 21st used to be known as Yule. The former date of the New Year. This is because after Dec 21st the days begin to get longer again. Dec 21st 2012 is like the Yule of Yules. It's the end of a "celestial year" so to speak, the change of one age to another. In this case it's the age of Pisces to the age of Aquarius. The age of Aquarius is said to be a more generous time. If anyone bothered to look at the picture I posted in the last page you will see that it takes 36 years to switch over, meaning we have been undergoing this process for some time now.

nothing will happen 2012. If I seriously think that something will happen, I will just borrow a bunch of money from banks and I will never have to pay back because i will be gone.
