      judging imagination

how do you judge imagination? that is, how am I to know that my imagination is more or less vivid than the next persons? how do you go about judging? if you ask me to imagine something (especially something more complicated), how can you know how clear/accurate my image is?

also, and I've asked this many times before, but must not have got a satisfactory answer - how does one imagine a taste or a smell? doesn't imagine imply images? after all, it is in the name. should there be new words for "imagining" tastes, sounds, smells, sensations (touch)?

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

I think the right question to ask
is instead of 'how', it's 'why'
it's a subjective sense. just like plenty of other things. why would I need to know if my imagination is "better" than someone elses?
      silly nerve

in the same ways we judge music
      subjectively, openly, non-competitively

If you both know how to draw, you could both draw a picture of it. Some people say they can see actual images, like when they close their eyes and imagine things. However, you can imagine things without seeing any imagine at all.
