Is this question even in the right forum? I'm not sure how one can have an "extended discussion" of anything Windows-related that doesn't eventually spiral down into a lengthy bitch-fest...
That said, I didn't have any problems w/ SP2 except that several days after installing it, I had to run a system restore (something I'd done several times before installation of SP2), and upon so doing, every single boot sector on my hard drive became corrupted, necessitating that I completely wipe my hard drive and do a clean install of the operating system. Fun stuff. (For the record, no one had ever heard of this happening before, so the odds are on your side.)

I had some bad initial experiences with SP2. I tried slipstreaming it with my Dell Windows reinstall disc, but it kept screwing it up. Probably just unique to my Dell OEM disc.
Now I'm running XP Pro with SP2 slipstreamed and my 'puter is running 50 to 70 percent faster than ever before.

The biggest thing is some rewritten core code I think, aside from all the security fixes.
