Misunderstandings of Dreams

Ok so if you want to ask a question about where people got a misunderstamding of something about dreams ask here. If you can try to answer the question above you...

Ok me first: So where do you think people got the misunderstanding of "When you die in a dream you die in real life." I use to hear that from people all the time...

My answer would be because nobody can actually die in a dream, they wake up beforehand, so they assume that their subconscious is protecting them from dieing by waking them. I read that the reason that you can't die in a dream is because you don't physically know the sensation of dieing, so you wake up just before. I knew this girl once that actually had died and they brought her back. She claimed that she had dreams in which she died... and she's still here.

Which leads me to my question... Is it true that you can't die in a dream unless you physically know the sensation?

No because dreams make up sensations all of the time.

Why do some people think they never dream?

They probably just have difficulty recalling dreams, or are have a bad sleep schedule or many of the other reasons for bad dream recall. Of course, believing that they never dream probably enforces their inability to recall dreams.

You know EXACTLY what it feels like to die. Go to sleep, dont dream. -or- Get knocked unconscious. Its a blank state of mind. You are unconscious. Simple enough.

In dreams it is VERY possible to die. The reason you dont, is because YOU dont want to. You mind usually acts according to what you do and dont want. ..and for the most part, you dont want to die, so your mind prevents it from happening.

If you die in a dream, usually just your dream-body dies, and you can move as just "thoughts", transfer into something or transform, revive yourself, or simply wake-up.

...a lot of dreams that result in death will just make you from stop recieving new images, as if your eyes were closed, what would you see if you were dead? Black/nothing. So the dream doesn't end, but just turns black. Now, when you wake up, and the last 30min of your dream you saw nothing, you will interpret it as you getting to the point of death, and your dream ended.
