      Red face Being someone else

In my dreams I've been someone else, but recognised myself, as...myself. I would be a completely different person. I would not even be able to see myself, but when I thought about myself in my dream I would see the face, figure, eyes of someone else.

ie I have dark brown hair and light brown eyes and I'm 16. I remember seeing myself as a 20-something with blonde hair and hazel eyes (it wasn't lucid, so I didn't take advantage of my new self by going and doing everything a 20-something can do).

I told someone else about this. They thought it was strange. Has this ever happened to you? Tell me about it

Yes, it seems to happen to me more often during intense, story-like dreams.

I'm a 21 year old female, and something odd I've noticed is that it seems I've only become attached to my gender in dreams recently. I'll actually have dreams involving being a female, feeling like a female, DCs treating me like a female. Not always, not even often, but more than in the past. Until a year or so ago, I rarely felt like myself in my dreams. I remember a specific dream in which I was a male with short dark hair, wearing a cape, rescuing people from a building in an ocean. In about half of my dreams, I don't feel like me as I identify myself in real life, but I don't feel like any other specific person either. I'm just my awareness. But, again, I definitely feel like I associate more with my real life identity recently more than in the past. It might just be a result of living longer, becoming more attached to my identity in real life and that carrying on to the dream world.
