Some LDs are as real as waking life with feeling the wind and vivid details of all senses, but other LDs are less vivid than that especially when not stabilized LDs can also be not real enough. However, most LDs I think are more real than most non lucid dreams, and often a dream becomes more vivid once one becomes lucid.

When I was good at LDing twenty years ago, my favorite thing to do when lucid was flying. Now that I am starting from scratch again, my favorite thing to do when lucid thus far appears to be waking up.

Very often beginners are lucky with the first LD but the second LD may take more effort. However, there is no hard rule on amount of effort: some people need more, and others need less.

Usually a successful LD makes one wake up more energized, however unsuccessful attempts can make one more tired - some methods more than others, for example if you do WBTB then part of that is waking up and being awake for part of the time when usually asleep, so that could make you more tired. However, if LD practice makes one more tired, one can make up for it and have a night of rarest full sleep (take a break).
