Generally speaking, dreams are often trying to balance out some attitude or behaviour etc. which if persisted in by the dreamer could tend to get in the way of the overall development of his or her personality potentials over time.
So the recurring “déjà vu” feeling in the dreams/nightmares could be saying that a certain theme has indeed been appearing in your dreams many times but you’re kind of “not getting it”, for example, from either not using a reliable enough method of analyzing your dreams or else there could be an understandable but unconscious reluctance to accept any “unpleasant messages” contained in the dreams.
The feeling apparently causes you to at least pay much greater attention to the dreams and this is probably part of its “purpose”, that is, to have you keep thinking about the dreams in order to hopefully have you become conscious somehow of what they’re trying to get across overall.
This could be especially true of any nightmares which are normally meant to “wake up” the dreamer emotionally to situations that are liable to become more serious if not dealt with in a conscious way.
Anyway, without knowing anything about you, this interpretation of your “déjà vu” dream experiences might not fit your personal circumstances very well but I hope these ideas can be helpful in some way.
