I used to have dreams of an overtly sexual nature but, whenever it came to penetration or orgasm I would abruptly awaken. Now I've been having sexual dreams again but, I've been able to achieve orgasm. This is kind of weird and hard to explain...it's like an orgasm but not...no physical sensations.
Has anyone else experienced this before? Am I making any sense???

I know what you mean. In dreams when I have an orgasm, and then I wake up, I realize my body has not had the orgasm--this may not be as obvious as with a male who has the physical evidence right there (or not), but I know what my body physically feels like right after an orgasm and I don't have that feeling. Like, IRL if I have one, I can have another within a couple seconds, but this is not the case when I have dream-sex; if I wake up, I have to start from the beginning. (Also, if I am at the verge of one in a dream, and wake up, it's not like I can just reach down and have one, which it seems like I should--if I try, I have to start at the beginning, like the dream wasn't physically happening.)

So I think I know what you are experiencing. I have read that this is same for males; that when they have a wet-dream it is during non-REM sleep and not remembered, but when they have dream-sex with orgasm, when they wake up, the evidence isn't there. So I guess we (females) could also be having orgasms during non-REM sleep that are real physical ones, but we don't remember it. That has probably been tested somewhere but I don't remember reading about it.

I disagree. I'm male and I've had several wet dreams. Every time it happened it was in REM sleep (I could claerly remember what I had been doing in the dream). I've never experienced wet dream during non-REM sleep.

I can relate to this. In my case, I discovered that there are two kinds of orgasm during wet dream: first, weak orgasm in dream only, then strong orgasm in reality (with all physical evidence). Sometimes my intercourse is stopped (due to preamature awakening or due to my decision) before having the real orgasm. (So, my pyjamas can be happy .)
Lucid Count: 60 (a lot from dream reentry and recognizing FA)
Experiencing uncommon problems is a way to debunk inaccurate theories and find the truth.

Oh OK, I guess people are different. I got LaBerge's book out (paperback) on pages 26-27 he talks about male dreamers not ejaculating during orgasms they remembered having during sleep, in contrast to wet-dreams experienced by adolescents, which are not associated with erotic dreams. But, he also describes right before that paragraph an experiment on a woman who had an orgasm and demonstrated all physical signs of it. So that is different than what I thought was happening to me. Hers was during a lucid dream, and now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've "tested" the difference between lucid and non-lucid orgasms. Gets a little complicated. Guess I've got some work to do, in the name of science.

So do you mean strong orgasm in reality is after you wake up? I wonder if the weak orgasm you have is the same kind we are describing that doesn't seem to be a real physical orgasm. The dream orgasms can be weak or "weird" sometimes, but sometimes feel normal.

      OK, everybody is different.

No. I mean strong orgasm happening during dream with all physical evidence in reality. (However, it depends.)

Im male, and never had a wet dream. I don't think I've orgasmed in a dream either, but I've came close, usually waking up right before (darn&#33 and the slightest breeze would finish it off IR, but only if done right away (a few seconds pass and it goes, but still a small feeling of euphoria).
Only the cinders remain as another night becomes a yesterday...
