Weird Parts Of Dreams

Do you guys ever have a dream, then when you're remembering it there seems to be a part or section of it that just didn't fit in? I had a dream that i was in school looking for a ride home after the day had ended, and i just remember midway through the dream being outside in a neighborhood but i dont remember how i got there or how i got back from being there. This happens to me every now and then and i would like to know if there is an explanation, like did i just forget some parts of the dream that led to me being in the neighborhood? Or was this a completely seperate dream but for some reason i think it was in the middle of my other dream? Have any of you experienced this or know why or how it happens?

i've had this a few times, last night in my dream i was walking out of school, it was the end of the day i assume and i walked half way home and then i appeared back in school, had a fight and then was at home, its very weird stuff, i'm not to sure on an explanation to this, i'll have a think but its difficult to think of a reason
