      Falling Impact feeling

I'm not sure where to pose this question, but since this is the most general area i could find, i'll post it here.

I have experienced multiple times, a feeling which can only be described as falling and hitting the ground, and it usually wakes me up from either a light doze or a light sleep. I have been reading about SP and was wondering, even though i know its not related to SP, if that particular feeling can actually mean anything at all. It rarely happens, but have experienced it at least 10 times over the course of my life. Looking through whats possible on this forums, it could be some sort of OOBE, but the thing is, that im not experiencing anything before-hand or nothing that i can remember. I just 'wake-up' and feel as if i have hit the ground for some reason, but am still in my bed.

      Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Someone once told me it's your soul falling back into your body after going out to dream. Persoanlly, I don't believe such that you have a "soul". I think it would be you falling off something in a dream and just not remembering, like sometimes I wake up with a jump and i'm sweating, though I don't remember the dream, I know something made me jump in that dream, and I got enough of a shock to wake me up.

Hope that clears things up, If not, sorry.

Aye, this gets asked often, especially recently.
You experienced a hypnic jerk. Happens plenty during sleep onset.
