      Open to suggestions

Hi, I´ve just signed up to these forums as I´m looking to share my dreams and learn form others experiences about this fantastic phenomenon.

I´d like to share two issues I still haven´t worked out. If anyone has any advice/suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

      1) For some time now an ex school friend keeps appearing in my dreams. When we were teenagers we had a thing for each other but it never went beyond a friendship. Since then (I´m now 36) I´ve had many relationships and not once have I remembered her in any way but as an old school friend. Sometimes during my dreams a family member/s will appear or other friends (both old and new). Nothing strange there, but the she is the only one that will appear randomly in my dreams. When I´m awake I never remember her or have any particular feelings towards her, so I don´t understand why she appears in them so often. When she does we are usually talking or she is in the same room(space). Nothing noteworthy happens, but she still appears from time to time. Once I´m awake I have a strong urge to contact her, but I don´t and after a few hours I forget about it. I have no desire to contact her and we both have drawn apart and have our own lives so this just puzzles me.

2)Another strange issue concerns remembering dreams unexpectedly. For some years now and out of the blue I will remember a dream that I had many years ago, sometimes even as a child, and will recall it as if it had happened yesterday. It´s as if you suddenly see a scene from a film and think "ah yes, I remember that film!". This happens under no special conditions, although it´s more likely to happen when I´m relaxed. Over the years I´ve learnt to remember dreams straight after waking up, but that doesn´t explain why I would recall dreams from 10-20yrs ago or even earlier, so vividly. It strange because these memories will appear when I least expect it and without having to make any effort to remember them. Anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks.

Interesting that you should still dream of her; perhaps what you should be examining is what this person represented for you, and how what she represented is present in your life today. Is there a comparable figure in your life today, or are there issues still attached to her (not necessarily involving her) that you are currently facing? It'd be interesting to know for how long you've been having these dreams, and how long it's been since you last saw her.

It's also interesting that you have a strong urge to contact her once you wake up: how difficult would it be to do so, and what would you have to lose and gain from getting back in touch with her? Maybe you've lost something that you as a person had back then, and your dreams are trying to tell you this by showing you an important figure from when you were at this period.
