help! when nonstop nightmares make you crack

dont get me wrong.. dreams are a beautiful thing, full of mystery, possibility, impossibility, an adventure, to say the very least.

but i feel i am a prisoner. when dreaming isn't associated with sleep anymore. when nightmares are the closest thing to rest you know, and you've lost your identity and don't know where to look to get it back. to remain sane when you feel like you haven't actually 'slept' in years..?

i have experienced every type of journey and experience from my dreams. amazing, unbelievable things.. ongoing.. and that's my concern.

      will it ever end?

i feel as though i have tried everything. i'm tired. im sick of living so many different lives. of someone i could be, would be, never will be, always was, never wanted to be, never thought of, impossibilites, and possibilities stretched beyond any thought or fantasy that a dream could rarely produce.

      every night.

it's all blending together.. i dont know which is stranger, dreams or reality. there is no way to decipher. it's been way too long.

how can i find rest? when will the search for silence be over?

yeah dreams can affect you like that...the way to stop it is to attack it directly from the source...this appears to be nightmares...as they appear to be seriously affecting your life then the best thing to do would be to stop them....i know thats easier said than done...but through lucid dreams that can happen....if you no longer fear something it poses less of a threat and will ultimately become non-existant to you

the only problem i see is that apparently you say you have "tried everything" does that include lucid dreams????? if it does then somethnig needs to be sorted out...can you describe these nightmares at all...

'i dont have a difference b/w my dreams and my nightmares. theyre all the same to me. i enjoy each one' - yeah i know what you mean...after lucid dreaming nightmares dont really scare you that well anymore and when your trying to turn lucid they really help as its easier to realise that your dreaming....that also should make it a lot easier for you to lucid dream and stop these nightmares.

p.s. by the way... brandon heat doesnt appear to understand your message and i personally had a little trouble understanding it too....so for future referance if you need help fast then keep your posts short and to the point...i dont want to sound picky but you will get more posts that way...

      thanks for the helpful reply.

i do apologize if my post sounded f'd up. cant help it, sorry. 'crack' is the word i used in the title, and crack i have.

actually, posting in a dream forum seemed to be the only thing i havent tried.
so now i can check it off the list.

and by the way, haha 'emo', that's funny. oh, the new highschool slang.

i believe that i had an extraordinary amount of insight to offer to this forum; but now i am just totally turned off.

Please don't be turned off by one insensitive post, tymbora. I believe you do have a lot of insight to contribute here. I wish I could give some good advice about your original post, but I'm at a loss.

I've had my fair share of stupid remarks to posts of mine, but just remember to take what you need and leave the rest.

Haha that made me laugh (not at tymbora but just the way it was said).

I too didn't really understand your post tymbora but it seemed very poetic, do you write poetry or anything? Alot of people on the forum (like me for example) aren't very good at figuring out hidden meanings, we're better at answering direct questions. I'm guessing you're talking about only having nightmares now and never getting good rest? I don't really know how to help you but I'll just say like Burns did to just ignore ignorant remarks and take the good advice. There are lots of people here that like to make fun of people but don't take them personally. The majority of the forum are the nicest people you'll ever meet so by all means if you have something to contribute go ahead. O and BTW welcome to Dream Views!

We're sorry for the insensitive posts. Unfortunately, there are some bad eggs in every omelette. That's why you check the restaurant's health certificate first.

Now we've got the mixed metaphors out of the way, we can continue to the slight confusion of your posts. I think I almost know what you mean, but if you could post some experiences and examples of what you mean, then it would be clarified for everyone here, and we would know where and how we could help.

And welcome to Dreamviews. Has the toll for the blue bridge gone up?

you mean you are being plagued by nightmares every single night, if so welcome to my world. Luckily for me this only lasts around two months in the summer, then i'll go back to not remembering many dreams and having a mix of random ones and LDs.
