      Your Most Frightening Places

:::: In honor of Halloween ::::

Post recurring dream locations that frighten you the most.

For me, I get dreams where I'm in a large house, either during the day or at night, where certain rooms are tainted with some sort of negative presence that is so powerful I am driven to wake up at times. The last one I had, I was supposed to be alone in this house. There was a door in a wall, inside the house, that was too high up on the wall to be useful. I was looking at this door, wondering how it got there and why, and then something began slowly opening the door. It was pitch black on the other side, so I had no way of seeing what was there. Scared the piss outta me

      Happy Halloween btw

Woah.. Thats scary.. I had a pretty scary dream once. I sleepwalked so I don't know if I should call it a dream.

I was walking through my fathers apartment and I felt watched. And suddenly I got a vision of some people with crimson robes watching me. And I felt this sudden feeling of.. I don't know what to call it.. Doom pherhaps. And I felt a hand on my shoulder and I started to scream.

Apparently my father saw me Sleepwalking so he put his hand on my shoulder to guide me back to bed. And I just started screaming.

      Freaky
I sleep so I don't have to feel

As long as we can swim freely in our dreams we won't need that sky anymore

I don't get it anymore, but I used to have false awakenings of seeing a spider as wide as the ceiling of my room on the ceiling of my room. At one point they were so frequent I researched if a spider that large was even possible!

Not a recurring place per se but they have a similar theme: I will find myself walking through a deserted (sometimes there is someone with me) large cool and dark storage room aboard a spaceship (or other similar instalation). There are usually lots of air vents and crates for things to be lurking behind and sometimes I will be hiding myself and watch as aliens or monster pass close by me. Other than that I also dream of being in plane crashes fairly often.

Not a recurring dream, But i have had it a few times recently.

I am walking sadly through a shipwrecked boat, the crew obviously all got off safely- And there are no monsters or spiders or anything. It's just the feeling of being completely and utterly alone. Combined with the feeling that someones hopes and dreams crashed upon the rocks.

I always feel lousy when i wake up from that one.

I have this dream whenever I have a fever. I usally have a false awaking, then I see one of the neighbors dogs, and they bark, sounds stupid, but the bark is strange, it pierces your ears and echoes through your skull. Or atleast thats how I feel during the dream, its one of the only times I wake up from a nightmare.

When I was younger, I think around 7 or 8, I used to have these most horrible dreams about myparents closet. I would be in their room either sitting on the floor or lying on their bed and the closet door would open and this very very faint green/white frame of some being, influenced by those horrific aliens in "Independence Day" would slowly crep towards me...I couldn't move and I couldn't scream... I guess they were night terrors, but I can't be sure...

I used to always have dreams with terrifyingly steep/fast/high escalators.

Haven't had one in a very long time though.

      my frightening place..

most of my recurring nightmares happen in the GARAGE.... I dunno why... but the garage... two ways out and usually one or both are blocked and there's a bad guy just on the other side blocking one of the exits.... with a car parked IN the garage...

I think, some of the scariest dreams I've had, took place in scenarios from the hellraiser movies.
So, I guess you could say hell was the most frightening place.

I had a single recurring dream for ages in one long run.

It was a stupid nightmare... but...

I find myself in a room. Then i'm just watching this metal ball bearing, and it's really heavy.

Yep, scared the shits out of me.

      Heavy ball bearing... reeeaallly heavy.

I must ask. Is it sooo incredibly heavy\dense that you can feel the gravitational pull from it even though it's an average size? Because i've had that dream...

My scariest dream place is ALWAYS my own home... In my dreams it's always haunted in horrid way's... I really don't want to go into detail, because some of these dreams are so horrible... yeah. Idk why my subconcious makes my house seem so evil...

      OMG YES.
      Exactly like that.

I first see it on like a seesaw. Then it just gets heavier.... and heavier....

Then everything becomes small and it starts sucking everything in. Then i wake up usually, or the dream changes.

Though nothing past that point. I have NO idea why it's so scary though...

I've had some scary dreams sort of like this, where an inanimate thing inspires pure terror for reasons I can't explain. With me, it's doors. God knows what's on the other side.

      Scariest Place

I don't get recurring places anymore, but as a kid I ALWAYS ended up at this warehouse in my dreams:

Very dark, everything is metal and theres a lot of echoing and clanking. Even the walls are metal. It's like a little city made up of giant dumpsters--but all inside of a big warehouse.

Will, I can understand the fear involved in yours...that does sound horrifying..I can only imagine running through there trying to hide from some evil entity chasing me, and clanking away..only to appear right next to me *shivers*

Had one the other night. Was a massive city, with no walking space between buildings. There was a wide highway that entered the city, but the road became a drawbridge on its way into the city. The city looked like it was made of dull metal, rivets and all that. Whenever I tried crossing the drawbridge, it would separate into halves, each rising hundreds of feet into the air. Scariest thing to me was that there was no one in this city. No one to be seen. Just the action of the bridge raising and lowering, as if some phnatom boat was moving along a river below that I could no see.

There were a few people who lived outside the city, and by 'outside' i mean, just a few feet away from the main highway that lead into it. I asked one person why it was so dificult to get inside this place. I knew that there must be goings on, and life there, but this person living outside it responded to me: "Why, if it is so difficult to get inside the city, do you think it would be as simple to get out of it." That scared the socks off of me. I realized then that the whole city was a trap. The drawbridge was trying to prevent me from getting in, because once I got in, I would never get out. (Think H.P. Lovecraft)

I dont get scary places as much as scary Dream Characters. The most scariest place I can remember being is in this toy store. None of the toys were alive, really. Well, they were, but only by the power of this dream character that was out to kill me. Shes appeared in a few of my dreams. Really freaky place.
