      REM too fast!!! wierd

hello im new to this forum but ive been trying to lucid dream for around 3 months i can reach sleep paralyziz smoetimes but i havent reached beyond that,, anyway,

when i go to sleep i wake up naturaly without using an alarm after 3 hours, and when i wake up i feel as if i just woke up after my dream ends!

as i read on several webistes that most of the dreams occur in ur REM ! but the problem here is that the REM starts after 4-6 hours from going to bed! this happens alot with me , i go to sleep, then i wake up after 2-3:30 hrs after sleeping! just after having a dream.

sorry for my english but its not my mother language! i learnt it when i was a child

That is incorrect, REM happens in cycles,

      stage 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, REM, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, REM, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, REM e.t.c

and roughly every 90 minutes (so one cycle from REM to REM is 90 minutes), that explains why you have been awakening from a dream after 3 hours (as it is a multiple of 90 minutes). REM periods increase in duration through the night, thats why the best periods to aim for are at 4.5 hours +, perhaps this led to your misconception.

      Anyway, welcome to Dreamviews.
