hearing while you dream

Last night i had a very strange experience, I have not mastered lucid dreaming yet but i have become rather good at dream recall. Last noght in my dream i was dreaming that i was talking to my friend through text messeges, everytime i heard my phone i awnsered and there would be a messege from her. when i woke up i relized that my phone was actually vibrating on my floor about every 5 miniuts the same amount of time i was reseaving texts in my dream, it was pretty neat!

Hey Scotty- yup, it's pretty common for your mind to incorporate external stimuli (sounds, sensations, etc) into your dream. You should try listening to music or an ambient sound CD when you go to sleep - it get's pretty interesting. :wink"

Yes, indeed it does. I once read about psychologists who did an experiment, where they lightly sprayed the face of a couple of hundred people. A lot of them dreamed about something water-related.

Yeah I've had that happen. I don't know if this counts but I was going back to bed and as I was falling asleep I heard a very 'ghostly' voice. I thought I was possibly going crazy so it freaked me out and I came out of my 'trance' I noticed my dog was outside barking.

i had adream i was peter from family guy and woke up to find that the t.v. was turned on to family guy

I once dreamed I had made and activated a tripwire which was buzzing. I could still hear it when I woke up and there was a bee behind my curtain.
