After Death

Many of us have been in dreams where we "die" and suddenly wake up before anything else happens. A common one being when you fall out of a building. The split second you hit the ground you are awake. I recently had a dream where I attempted to fly by jumping out of a building, and I couldn't do it. I was falling starring towards the ground and I hit, but didn't wake up. I lifted my head and saw nothing but infinite white. I stood and walked, but had no depth perception. The dream lasted quite a bit longer and consisted of me wandering aimlessly in a world of nothing. Anyone else ever die and stay asleep to see what happens?

I had one when i was very young, i was in a canoe with my dad, and it was like frogger, there were lots of little canals, and grass areas, i jumped out onto the grass area, and i remember my dad giving me a look of deep sadness, then a gator came and attacked me, i felt nothing but numb, i was still in my body, i was a pile of flesh and bone on the floor, and i just felt pure numbness.

I've got more or less the same experience as Volcon: a few months ago, I dreamed a prisoner shot me in the head, and it happened so suddenly. I just continued to dream and I could see the guy leaving the room. But since I dream quite much from a third-person perspective, I think death really doesn't mean much. I'd say one wakes up upon touching the ground or upon getting killed just because of the excitation and the adrenaline. I would say you just dreamed of that "world of nothing" because it either matches your vision of the afterlife, or the brain processed an information (like, I don't know, simply something white?) at the moment you got killed. Well, at least to me it doesn't feel I really die in dreams because I don't have any pain and because I see things from a third-person perspective, so more like a movie.

I've actually had plenty of dreams where I die and keep dreaming. I had one a few months ago where I was in the back of a church walking with my girlfriend and there was a guy with a serious look on his face that never changed and with a gun. I just decided to fight with this guy because I felt like he was going to do something. He didnt but I started fighting with him. He struggled and kept the same look on his face and he finally got away from me, pointed the gun at my girlfriend and me and shot at both of us. I remember holding her and looking at her and her head was slumped over but still standing because I was holding her. Then we started floating in the air bumping off the walls like we were in space.... After i realized we were dead and floating as ghost (in first person) i woke up. I have been shot in a LOT of my dreams.... Dont know why I am always getting shot....

I had one dream where i died and didnt wake up. I think i got stabbed by some stranger then dying, and then i remember having this umbilical cord on me while i was floating around in very dark water or something O_o after that i remember seeing my family and friends go on with their lives without me there...i just felt numb and wanted to go back. Was odd
