      Am I going crazy?

Last night I had the most terrible dream

It was quite late night , I went to visit my mom and little brother. When I entered the living room it was a complete bloodbath!...sitting in the middle of the living room was my mom holding a huge carving knife , my little brother entered the room dragging a man behind him...they then proceeded to kill the man in a very voilent way!
After they killed this man they fetched another one and did the same to him! HERE COMES THE WORST PART they then started killing women and babies.

It was like my living room had been turned into some sort of slaughter house for people?!?! it was disgusting!!!

another part of the dream was our dog crying and screaming in agony at what seemed to be an ear infection? I couldnt calm him down

what the hell was that about?

      Welcome to DVs!
Yeah, you're not going crazy and/or insane. These type of dreams happen. I know they're hard to get over, but try to forget about it and move on to your good dreams.

Lucidity is simply is realizing you're dreaming during the dream.

I don't know about that. I had a bad lucid dream a couple nights ago. Go look in Lucid Experiences.

Lucid means that one is aware that he/she is dreaming. That's all there is to it.

Heh. Sometimes it does, but you can change it to your mom holding a carving knife to cut the cake, or a delicious cherry pie!

      I particularly use the WILD/WBTB method(s).
Basically I just wake up after about 5 or 6 hours of sleep (wbtb), then I just proceed on to my WILD technique. The technique I first used to guide me was Clarity's WILD Technique which is pretty detailed and helpful.

Actually, its not easy for me to say.
Ive been falling asleep at 2 or 3 am for the past few weeks. I have to stuff down Melatonin, 5-htp, anything containing diphenhydramine, or any other sleep meds I can get my hands onto just to fall asleep hours after taking it. I know how it feels to sleep deprived; insomnia's not fun. My sleeping schedule is severely messed up b/c it.

Yeah, same here. And no problem, I know exactly how you feel being sleep depraved so no worries (Im not sleep depraved b/c Im sleeping in really late).
But when I start college in January, Im definitely going to the doc to get some hypnotics, like Ambien, or something because this is just ridiculous. Right now, Im on Melatonin and Benedryl (for the Diphenhydramine) and its 3 am over here. So Im just waiting for that stuff to take effect b/c I feel wired as hell as of now.
But if your sleeping schedule is as messed up as mine and nothing else is working for you (like in my case pretty much), then I suggest you take a visit to the doc as well. Because I know that there's nothing worse than not being able to fall asleep when you have to get up to go to school in a few hours.
