      Almost an LD, weird symptoms?

I've never heard anybody write anything like this, so I'll just ask.

Last night, trying to fall asleep, I have a feeling that THREE times I nearly had a WILD. Mostly white lights, but there were also patterns that looked like a peacock and I thought I was so close to a dream.

But, the entire time, my eyes were twitching like crazy, all three times I experienced these white/gray patterns.

Is this twitching normal? Anybody else have something similar?

Yes. That is the beginning of REM sleep, which is the sleep when dreams occur. You were VERY close to a WILD. (REM stands for rapid eye movement, as your eyes move with your dream eyes.) I recommend sleeping in a room that is VERY dark so you can open your eys on accident without being to distracted as to wake yourself up, as it would still be like having your eyes closed. Good luck!

So I was entering REM while still (pretty much) totally conscious? I'll try the completely dark thing, not sure if it will work as I live in an apartment. Thanks for your input.

Also: I've heard people have much more success WILD'ing after 3-4 hours of sleep (eg. Clarity) and rarely do it when they first sleep. Is it still possible for me to WILD on my first attempt at sleeping? Could this have been a fluke? It was my first WILD attempt too so, kinda crazy.

Yeah, your odds are better after a few hours of sleep but there is no reason not to try before you sleep too. The more you explore the border area between being a sleep and being awake the better you'll get.
