Is it possible to dream about God?

This is really intreguing me. I have dreamed about fighting Satan three times, about being Jesus once, but I cannot remember ever meeting god. I am an atheist but even if you're a Christian and god is an important figure in you're life, it would make sense to dream about him right? I haven't heard of anyone ever having a dream about god; unless it's a spiritual vision etc. Can anyone tell me of an instance in which you or someone else has dreamed of God or are you just as confuddled as me? We can imagine god so why not dream about him?

We can imagine god so why not dream about him? That's the whole point. We can't imagine him. He can do absolutely anything. He can take any form. He can be everywhere and no where. I think that putting an entity with absolutely no limitations into a dream would be too taxing for your subconscious and so it does not happen. Your mind can't control all of the variables involved with God at once. It is (seemingly, at least) not possible. I would be interested to find out what happens when someone tries to summon God in a dream.

I've dreamed about god in various forms. Once god was a warm lap and a pair of arms. Another time Jesus was embodied by a parade of people singing and waving colorful silk banners. Another time I met Krishna -- a Hindu god. He was middle aged, balding, had a pot-belly, and was blue. He also was very wise and had a great sense of humor.

i had a dream where i heard a heavenly voice and i looked up at the sky and light was beaming down out of the clouds and God was speaking. I was so shocked I actually woke up. My jaw literally dropepd in my dream and i could feel it when i was waking up, sleep paralysis :/

It essentially depends on what you interpret God to be. True... I had a dream of the Cathlic god, no meaning to me... I also dreamed of Bodah..

Well I guess this kind of answers my question, I guess you can dream about god. I just find it extremely surprising that I never had. The dream I had about being Jesus fighting Satan was epic though. I can only remember the last scene but I wish I had recorded it all because when you have a dream like that you just gotta think it means something. I was in the centre of the Earth (as Jesus) walking on a platform over a chasm. Satan was on a platform opposite me. Not quite sure what we were there for. As I pushed past (masked?) people to get there two of them fell into the pit. I remember thinking, "It is alright that they fell, because they will be experiencing an everlasting orgasm". It has spiritual meaning to me. And I thought I had not a single spiritual bone in my body.

Have you ever heard that "The Kingdom of Heaven is the place where you go when you dream"? When you dream, your spirit leaves your body and enters "spirit" - or "The spirit world" this is why people see spirits of people alive, dead, angels, demons etc. God is in Heaven or in spirit - you can see Him there - in the dream.

I've dreampt of God on many occassions and have gotten a lot out of it. I can't see any reason why it shouldn't be possible.
