      External light deducting REM time?

My friend told me he was certain that, if you had a light in your room brighter than a single candle light when you sleep, you get deprived of your REM time..

He also told me that if you have an electric blanket under you that is plugged in, it also has the same unfortunate effect.

I don't know if I believe this, I wanted to know DV's opinion.

That's easy. Just set a light to go off every hour 15 min which is light sleep before REM...
