      Magnetic Fields 0_o

      http://uk.reuters.com/article/oddlyE...27162420080826

      Hey look what I just found; obviously not of any real interest until this came up;

      "Some studies suggest humans who sleep in an East-West position have far shorter rapid eye movement or REM sleep cycles, in which dreams occur, compared with North-South sleepers who got more REM sleep."

      Anybody ever heard about this before/any ideas as to whether it's true?

      Lol! Who would've thought. This is a very interesting article... I'll try this out for sure. But yes, I've heard stories about this before, but none as convincing as this article.. I mean this can't be coincidence that the cows all look at the same direction. My guess is that this would be true, sounds only logical if you think about it. Our brains are electric, so it's only normal they would be influenced by the magnetic field of the earth. Cool article, thanks for sharing

      Yeah, and if you turn your computer (motherboard) in north-south direction, you will gain 500MHz and 256MB ram! It's perfectly logical, when you think about it.

      I believe it to be true because I think I've heard this before somewhere. And not only that, but I notice that I usually recall dreams better when sleeping on my right side (I don't know what you mean exactly by 'East-West position' but this is just from my experience). My dreams seem to be the more memorable ones pretty much always when I'm on my right side. I even used to wonder 'do I even dream while sleeping on my left side?' but one night realised I still do, of course

      I can't remember why now, but in my last psychology class we went over their study and methodology and how they got the results they did and why it was complete bullshit. Damn... I'm gonna have to try to find my notes when I've got more time or find a better version of their article so I can remember!

      Hehe I'd love to be doing Psychology at that level, unfortunately I need to finish the terrible (TERRIBLE) computing course I'm on now so I have enough points to get onto a higher education Psychology/Mental health course

      That's strange, I thought all you had to do was take psych 101?

      In North America maybe.... here (England) you need certain points called UCAS points to be able to get into any good course... every type of recognised course has a point score depending on the grade achieved and you need a minimum amount of points to get into most university courses! I have however done Psychology at A2 level (Out of 25 people only myself and another passed the first year and we both passed the second)
      So if I want to do the next level (Honours degree or similar) I have to finish my Computing honours degree first! (I was lucky to get on the computing course, the first 2 years were not hosted at the university so all I had to do was talk my way into the college)
      Unfortunately the first 2 years at the associated college have been AWEFUL inept teachers old disciplines etc hopefulyl the third year will be better then I can see if I can get into a Mental Health course

      This magnetic field theory seems quite relevent. I used to sleep with my bed facing a opposite direction then it is now, but now that I swithced it LD's have gone way way down. Maybe I should flip my bed back around and see how it works?
