      Failing to recall

Ever since joining this site seven nights ago, I haven't recalled a single dream.

Bear in mind, I normally remember several dreams a night. I normally lucid dream once every week or two, sometimes more. This is very, very out of the ordinary to not remember anything, and the only thing that has changed between then and now is that I'm now a member of this forum. The most I ever remember going without dreaming was two or three nights.

I'm now trying to figure out what could be stopping it. Any suggestions? What typically prevents recalling dreams?

Well im a newbie myself , but ive improved my dream recall . Don't know how to say this in the right way , but the main thing is that you've got to think of phrase in your mind " I will remember this dream" or something similiar . For the first couple of days i only managed to recall only a small part of the dream but within time it became a routine.

It doesn't work. I've been trying that. I should have remembered though, if I make the intention to have a dream, the opposite happens. If I make the intention to have a good dream, I have a nightmare. If I make the intention of having a nightmare, I'll either have a good dream or not remember anything at all.

Maybe I should this time try saying "I'm not going to dream tonight" and see what happens.

I still haven't had any success, I've recalled two accounts of sleep paralysis in one night not last night but the night before (One where I was awake and fell into paralysis, the other where I woke up into paralysis). But still not a single dream recalled since I joined this site! This is worryingly unusual for me!

I have been feeling withdrawal symptoms from not remembering too - irritability, loss of control over my emotions, etc.

      Ok, just relax! First!

Without going into past experiences, I'll tell you a few of the things I do to help dream recall, because I live in a place where it's loud and stressful, and when I wake up the last thing I can do is remember my dreams. BUT, it's important to remember your dreams, so I do my best.

First, RIGHT when you wake up, you kind of want to push out RL thoughts, any environmental noice, (children laughing, dogs barking, traffic outside), and just do your best to relax and think about what happened when you were asleep. If you can't remember it, don't let that stress you out, you just want to kind of focus on what it was like just a moment ago when you were asleep.

I'm thinking after time, as you work on this, you'll be able to immediately tune out whatever is happening in your mind to block the memories of your dreams.

Let me know if this helps!
