Exploring the world of lucid dreams

I know i'd be more advised to get the Exploring the world of lucid dreams book by Stephen Laberge, but the only one i can see available is called lucid dreams. I am aware that this is a different book, but does it equal EWLD on a helpful level for anyone trying to learn Lucid dreaming?

      Thanks in advance

It's a different book, one he wrote before EWOLD. I'd get EWOLD if I were you, it's a great book. Don't really know about the other one though.

If you're trying to learn to lucid dream, except for spiritual and motivational purposes you really don't even need a book if you're already on DV. What I have heard is that Lucid Dreaming is more like a pamphlet simply saying "THIS IS HOW YOU LUCID DREAM" (kind of like the tutorials on here) whereas EWOLD is full of anecdotes, experiences, a bit of the descriptions of his research, delves more into the physiology of sleeping, provides in-depth tutorials (then again I am not sure if they are more in-depth than his other book), and there is a LOT of stuff in there about spiritual whatever with monks. If you're really into spirituality and monks and crap like that, I'd say you'll rather enjoy it. If you don't, it gets annoying to jump over others' experiences and monks. But that's only if you don't like reading about what OTHERS have dreamt and what MONKS have done and are interested purely in learning to do it yourself.

If you search I know the two have been discussed before and you might find something from owners of both.

EWOLD is definitely the guide to have on LD in general, it's almost like a bible to most people. It was my first book on the topic and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can recommend it wholeheartedly for a beginner like myself.

Alternatively, there's another great book that I've bought in the last week, that, dare I say it, slightly surpasses EWOLD in it's overall content and it's called "Lucid Dreaming - Gateway to the Inner Self" by Robert Waggoner. This I think is more for experienced Lucid Dreamers, for it delves more deeply into the meaning of dreams, how they sometimes conjure up things from subconscious that can still surprise us with their apparently insightful knowledge of our waking selves.

Hey guys. I live in Singapore and I really want to get this book, but amazon.com doesn't have any EWoLD available for international shipping. I am quite positive that the bookstores here don't have the book as well. Is there any way I can get it?

Search the Internet for the books ISBN, then ask your local library or bookstore to get it. Of course, you could just use eBay.

Regarding the book "Lucid Dreaming". I have both books. "Lucid Dreaming" is really just an abridged version of "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming." It skims the first few chapters of ETWOLD that focus on the science of dreaming and a brief tutorial of MILD and WILD. It doesn't go into the deeper subjects of lucid practices, lucid goals, wish fulfillment, nightmares, and such. The copy that I have does include a CD which has several audio tracks of LaBerge talking about a few key subjects and two guided hypnosis sessions.

But overall, I'd still recommend ETWOLD.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
