      Was This Progress? :)

      *hopeful face*

Ok, so, this was only my second night of keeping a dream journal keep in mind, so I realize that is very early to start looking for progress on DILDing other than better dream recall.

Well, this was 2 nights ago (last night I could recall bits and pieces of like 3 dreams, not nearly as good as this night I'm explaining) and I've been doing reality checks for the past several weeks, and making note to remember my dreams and to look at my hands and realize I'm dreaming right before I go to bed.

I had a very vivid dream, and at one point I was in a town on a street, and there was some sort of tornado, and busses and cars were flying and sliding down the street at me, so I ran (I couldnt feel the wind for some reason) down another street and as I escpaed the flying debris, the world started to fade, like details were less vivid. So, I THINK remembering from my reading of lucid dreaming techniques, I spun around in a circle with arms outstretched to regain clarity of the dream. This is where I'm not sure if I was lucid or not; it seems like I was, because there was no reason in the plot of the dream to spin around, but at the same time, I never looked at my hand or anything to realize I was dreaming, and I never got the amazing sense of lucidity that I see people describe.

Is it possible I did have a lucid dream, and can't recall it super-well? Is that common if one hasn't been keeping a journal long enough to help dream recall?

      Is this at least progress?

      Thank you!

it's possible. when you spun around did you keep dream? what did you dream about and could you control it?
in a way, yes it's progress.
Dripping time into a seed that grows into the world and sprouts a fruit that ripens into humans. They stretch up into the sky looking for purpose, wandering when and if their time has come. Realizing the potential they have, they select their paths which weave in and out to make the good and the bad, the pure and the corrupt...

Well, when I spun around I "came back" for a little while; like clarity came back, but I was in a different place, and my friends were there, and they laughed at me for spinning around. 0_o
Do people in your dreams normally do that when you do reality checks or spin?

I woke up VERY soon after though, it was like "oh damn cant see! *spin* *new scene* *friends laugh* omg! *wake up*"

You probably just incorporated lucid dreaming elements to your dream. Did you were aware that you were dreaming ? If the answer is yes, then you were lucid, if no, you weren't.
I think it was non lucid with some lucid elements, like spining.

Hmmmmmm no I don't believe I was lucid then. I think it was just lucid elements. About a week ago I had a dream that I lucid dreamt too, but I didn't actually lucid dream, if that makes sense.

Having those elements in my dreams at least must be a good sign though right? If I keep practicing and keeping the journal, I can hopefully note that I'm doing that stuff in the dream and realize it's a dream.

I usually have those kinds of dreams, where some lucid dream elements are incorporated. There are ones where I'm slightly aware that it's a dream, but continues with the plot, I often call it a semi lucid.
Of course it's a good sign, it means your subconscious mind have absorbed the idea of lucid dreaming.

If you want to have further success, you must not make the same mistake most newbies do: trying for a week or some nights, don't have any progress and give up. You must keep lucid dreaming in mind and keep up with the techniques you choose, give the time it needs, it can be a day, a week, or lots of months; vary from person to person.
