      Pain

Do all lucid dreams have pain. Some people here who talk about there dreams talk about extremely vivid pain, and I was wondering if ALL Lucid dreamers have them, or just some dreams/some people...

      Hmm..

      Pain..

Well, emotional pain is a given and easily happens.. but vivid or dreamed physical pain..

Personally, for me, not all the time. Most of the time, I'm in too much schock from whatever caused the pain to realise it (almost like in real life, really).

However, there have been times when I would vividly and I was positive that I'd feel physcial pain. This usually happens either in my lucid duels (where I conjur a demon to battle) or a non-lucid dream in which I am, most of the time, stabbed. Generally though, I think it's your mind that really creates the vivid pain.

There have been times in my lucid duels that my opponent will strike me, and I will think that I feel pain.. but then I remember, "It's just a dream.." and the pain is easily dissipated.

This could also lead to those theories on wether or not dream wounds can come to reality (this is really on the edge of "The Matrix" here though) because your mind is solely fixated on the dream. However.. I believe the majority of the time, the injury is a hallucination, and doesn't actually exist. I don't think many people are at this step.. (actually, I'm pretty close to as I'm told..)

This is my personal perspective on it though, I don't speak for the mass.

      Hope I was enlightening,
      ~ Michael : O'nus

I don't think I've ever experienced physical pain while dreaming. Just a warm tingling sensation.

      Oh.. I worded that wrong..

What I mean is that my mind was solely fixated on the factor of whatever cause an injury, that pain isn't really on my mind at the time, thus, I don't feel it nor think about it. And it typically be a lucid dream, I can dis-regard the pain.

      Hopefully that clears it up,

      Pain is teh suck...

Depending on how deep I dove and how stable the world is yes there is pain. Read Rtex's thread "brutal attacks getting worse", usualy thats what my dreams are like, limited influence full sensory input... feels just like this place.
The dream I spoke of in lucid experiences "the day the scientist went out to lunch" the pain crossed over, I fell off a cliff and oh boy did I hit that ground... and I woke up in such intense pain I couldent move, I thought I was paralized, when I fell back asleep and woke back up where I fell on the beack there was still residual pain, that was not fun...

I often feel pain in dreams... shit once I had a dream where a monkey pulled out my teeth, I could even feel my gums from where my two front top teeth were with my tounge. It felt so real when I woke up I ran to the bathroom to see if they were still there... thank God they were.

I never felt pain in my dreams; LD or Regular. In Regular dreams if something hits me or I hit something it just feels like a Tingling Sensation, but never pain. Whenever im in an LD I never feel pain but I can feel everything else wind, mass, coldness, Warmth, Liquid, But I think I just mentally exclude pain and since I know nothing can hurt me in my dreams I believe my mind just manifest that into what it is.

I haven't ever experienced any pain in my dreams - probably a good thing too, because I tend to have alot of "falling off buildings" dreams.

(I liked the falling off buildings. A great G-force feeling...)

I would think everyone would expirience some kind of pain in a dream, unless you can wake yourself before the incedent happens, such as falling off a cliff and waking right before hitting the ground.
The mind is a complex structure, and what it expirences during sleep can be just as real or even more than the waking world, so it should expirience what it 'sees'...kinda just like the matrix..."THE BODY CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT THE MIND"

      yea! go incubus!!

well once i had a dream that was sorta lucid(it was at the point where i was fairly sure the other people didnt exist) and i was tased, with an...um, taser. i dont think i felt pain, but my body still acted as if i did. it was a while ago, but i think i felt the taser the way you feel a dentists drill when your numbed up.

I've been mildy electrocuted and stabbed to death (terrifyingly realistic sensation, I woke up and had to check myself all over for stab wounds even thought I knew it was a dream).

Assains? I take it you mean assasins, but to answer that question, if thats what you mean..it depends what you belief. I suppose you could consider a demon or a dark spirit(whatever you wish to call them) an assasin, but he doesnt want to really kill you.I think they more intend on driving you insane.

      Welcome!

and, yes, just as lucius said. it depends on what you believe
if you truely believe that the dream world is in fact another reality, there is bound to be some people over there who dont want us there, or are just mean!
