      I dont know much about it....I just herd that it happens if you lucid dream.Im freaked out!!!I want to have a lucid dream but I dont want some kind of moster in my room!

      No no no, nothing like that. It's basically just SP (sleep paralysis), during which you feel a sensation of pressure on your chest, as if someone (the "old hag") were sitting on you or holding you down.

      Supposedly the ‘old hag’ mythology of the mad ugly old women standing over your bed, pressing on your chest has changed today into ‘Alien abductions’.

      For the most part, it has nothing to do with lucid dreaming. If you were lucid dreaming, you should be able to tell that the old hag is a creation of the mind. It is the fear of not being able to move that makes you think that something evil has control over you. I think so anyway.

      It is NOT always a hag either. It's probably the most evil creature your mind can imagine. The old hag is a legend and people picture the hag, most likely, because they heard the story before.

      So its just...radom...just a radom thing that happens...nothing to do with lucidity at all......good for a moment there I thought that having a lucid dream would give me a great experince and a the worst exprince of my life.......... ok thanks so I really have nothing to worry about.......

      I'd say no. Most people enter lucid dreams while they are in deep sleep. Sleep paralysis is when your mind wakes up while your body is still in a sort of conservative sleep mode. So you are paralyzed for a few moments untill your body reverts to it's fully awake and alert condition. It is when you are paralyzed that you can have halucinations of an evil being holding you down.
